This looks like a Game for Original Atari

Story - 8/10
Its the history channel, so I don't see the need to go over historical accuracy. Just like in Call of Duty 2 you are presented with a view of a journal of the soldier you are playing as, (in the same language of the era too no less, a nice touch), and also with a video introduction which gives you an idea of troop strength, locations, etc. Then a little pop up comes up to encourage you to fight for your side.
But then it thrusts you right in the middle of the action, and soon after a quick scripted event, you're on your own, and other than the occasional wounded soldier you come across, there is pretty much no more plot to the level.
You will fight as a union and confederate soldier, and you will notice that if you are a confederate soldier, you're pretty much guaranteed a loss, and union soldiers, well, its always a win.
Graphics - 2/10
Simply awful, I had been excited to see the civil war battles in full definition with the 360, but sadly, the level of detail was far from what I had expected. The plant-life is two dimensional and dull, the grass just a flat plain. Enemies come in only two different types and the definition is dull on both. A sad excuse for smoke comes out of the guns, and the only thing that saves this from a zero is that your character and weapon looks halfway decent in the first person perspective.
Plain and simple, these graphics are NOT acceptable for a next gen system.
Final Score - 4.5/10
This game had great potential, but limited by history, there's only so much you can do, if there was ever anything called too historically accurate, this game nailed it. Overall, it seems that little effort was put into making this game.

The History Channel -- Civil War: A Nation Divided

This game uses the COD2 engine to simulate 12 battles in the American Civil War. The weapons are historically accurate, and the reload times are in fact accurate as well.
This game makes melee take importance over gunplay. You have rifles, repeaters, carbines, pistols, sabres, knives and historically correct gernades (you have to land them flat for them to explode!). You will save your bullets for critical times and it cranks the intensity of the game up dramatically because of this. There are also cannons, gatling guns, and powerkegs to use in this game.
The 12 levels are all real Civil War battles, 6 for the North, and 6 for the South. The graphics are above average, since this is using the COD2 engine. The frenzy that was in COD2 is here too, but more intense because you just can't go in blasting. You will learn to respect your sabre and bayonet.
A solid, well-produced effort and certainly worth your time if you are a fan of FPS. This game puts a new spin on FPS games and it does not disappoint.

This is a good game that is fun to play, graphics not great for the 360 but storyline, and history is great, there are 12 realistic battles you can play either as the union or confederate armies depending on what battle you choose, overall 3.5/5

My son enjoys playing this game because he says it is interesting to see all the actual types of weapons that the soldiers used when they were fighting in the civil war. He also says that the events seems so real. He is really into the civil war he just loves anything that has to do with the civil war or world war I or II. I didn't even know that this game existed till I found it on ebay and thought that it would be a great gift for my son. Couldn't have bought anything else better for him.
