Hoover U5140-900 Tempo WidePath Upright Cleaner

My fiance and I needed a new upright vacuum cleaner as our old one of 12 years finally quit. We have a consumers buying guide pocket book so we checked to see which one might be suited for us. After reviewing all of them we came to a decision and picked the Hoover Tempo. It was inexpensive and rated in the top 8 out of 58 uprights. It is a little loud but thats the only drawback. It's suction is powerful and manuverability is good. One of the main reasons we chose it is that it is the paper bag version and that it states for that reason there is much less dust particals leaked. My fiance has alergies and we feel in the long run it will work out the best for us. Hope this reveiew helps. Regards

I had purchased this product for my sons when they each moved into their own apartments. It's inexpensive, versatile and most young men don't care about "name brands" or even cleaning. I own one expensive and 2 medium price uprights and find that this inexpensive one works very well plus it's a lot less money. No, it's not a Kirby but it's 12 Amp motor is great for my low nap industrial berber in the basement and the rest of the carpet upstairs which has (2) Labrador Retriever hair everywhere. The self-propelled feature is very good-it really pulls. It's also nice on hard floors, comes with plenty of tools and is easy to assemble. I didn't need to involve my husband or use anything but a phillips screwdriver on 2 screws. Medium weight-not light but not as heavy as some.

This Hoover vacuum has better suction power than vacuums costing four times as much. A very powerful 12 amp motor gets the job done. Drawbacks? My only complaint would be the quality of the accessory hose, which is too thin walled for the amount of power in the vacuum. If your not careful, you can easily make the hose collapse in on itself. Also the suction is so great that even though it is an expandable hose, you have to work against the force of the vacuums suction. But it will pick up just about anything! All in all, you can't beat this vacuum for the price. Absolutely best in it's class.

Nice vaccum , easy to put together only 2 screws , works great cleans good nice wide cleaning path comes with some attachments and a hose makes vaccuming easy can not ask for more than that.

This vacuum cleaner is one of the best, if not the best, I have ever used. It handles easily, is not heavy or clumsy to use and really picks up everything in its path. The first time I used it, it felt as if it were self-propelled, it worked so easily. I love the fact that it has a bag. My old bagless didn't pick up nearly as well and took a lot of work to empty out and clean after every use. I haven't found anything about my Hoover Tempo that I dislike. I like it better and better every time I use it.
