Hoover U6485900 Upright Cleaner

I had another Hoover for over 15yrs and it had seen its day. So I researched vigorously and wanted first and foremost a self propelled function. My previously one had that function. But I was opened to another make and model if it gave me most I wanted. Well, first things first, no other company makes a true Self propelled function. I also wanted a filtered bag because it keeps the dirt in. I wanted it to be strong and light. After many weeks of research, I made my choice for this vacuum. After I received it, it had everything I wanted. It gets my floors and especially my carpets so clean and makes vacuuming fun and easy. It glides on the carpet and is lighter than my older unit. Hoover is also reliable. As of yet, I do not have any cons against

I love having the lights tell you when the floor is clean or when it is still dirty. In addition, when the bag is full. Although the vacuum is heavy it is well worth it to have the self propel mechanism. The only thing I don't like about it is the extension piece is too short. I will need to look into buying an addition for it. I decided to buy it for a more powerful vacuum than my 13+ year old vacuum. Also, I went by consumer reports as the best vacuum on the market.

I bought this vacuum about 2 mos. ago and am very pleased. We had poor luck with canister vacs so we decided to go back to bagged (so much cleaner). This model has excellent suction and it is very easy to operate with the self propelled option. I never thought it would make much of a difference, but it does. Our carpets appear very clean.

I would certainly recommend this unit to anybody.

I have had several of these (different model #s) over the last 15 yrs. They are the best cleaning upright according to CR tests and I would agree. Mine have lasted an avg. of 5 yrs. under some tough conditions in a full house. You should order the longer 25' extension hose or you won't be able to reach much of anything with the hand tools. The Pet hair brush tends to get hair/thread etc. caught in the bearing surfaces and eventually it will stop working. You usually can just unscrew the bottom cover, remove the beater and pull it all out; synthetic hair is much more difficult. Be careful when you are vacuuming with it as the self-propelled feature tends to cause more collisions and damage to your baseboards, furniture etc. I would encourage the use of the allergen bags as they really keep the dust/dirt in the bag where it belongs. You can find them online for much less then Brick and Mortar stores in my experience. I have bought the Hoover and other brands with good results.

Excellent Vacuum for carpets and bare floors at unbelieveable low price. Bagless, easy to remove/empty the dirt container. More powerful than expected. Compares to vacuums at 2x-4x the selling price. Includes tools, long hose attachment and rotating brush hand attachment for stairs/car carpeting, etc. Lightweight for its power. Long electrical cord. Planning to buy another to keep on a lower floor of our home at this very economical price.
