hot tub time machine

amazing. i laughed durring the entire movie. great cast. movie is about 3 grown men and cusaks nephew who have done nothing with their lives and decide to go back to their favorite hangout from when they were younger when a friend tries to commit suicide. when there they get into a hot tub which turns into a time machine and they all go back in time to where they were in highschool. in the 80's. now in the past they must do everything the same which includes some things they wish they could change. while trying to figure out chevy chase's clues on how to fix the hot tub so that they can get back to their present time. however when the time comes do they want to go back to pathetic lives? yes this movie sounds cheesy, which it is, but if you are simply looking for a fun movie where you don't have to think and wil make laugh your ass off, this is the movie to watch. i love this movie.

Travel back to 1986
Created: 29/06/10
Four losers head off to their favorite vacation spot from when they were younger to try to relive some of the good life. When they arrive the find out that all the good times have passed them by and the resort is run down and falling apart. They hop into the Hot Tub and are transported back to 1986 where they get to re-live one of the worse weekends of their lives. Only this time things will be different.
This movie was fun, but it was not nearly as funny as I expected it to be. It was interesting to look back at how sad everyone was back in the 80s with the strange clothes, hair and attitude toward life.
Hot tub time machine stars: John Cusack as Adam, Clark Duke as Jacob, Craig Robinson as Nick Webber, Rob Corddry as Lou (The four main stars of the film) and Sebastian Stan as Blaine, Lizzy Caplan as April, Collette Wolfe as Kelly, Crispin Glover as Phil, Chevy Chase as The Hot Tub Repair Man, Kellee Stewart as Courtney Agnou-Webber, Lyndsy Fonseca as Jennie, Charlie McDermott as Chaz, Crystal Lowe as Zoe, Jessica Paré as Tara and William Zabka as Rick Steelman.
It was entertaining but I would probably rent this one instead of buying it.

6 The Movie
An entertaining but deeply flawed comedy
6 The Video
The overly dark, saturated transfer actually manages to dampen the impact of a few sight gags.
7 The Audio
An underwhelming mix, but better mixed than most sex comedies out there.
3 The Extras
A disappointing "Unrated" version and an equally unimpressive collection of deleted scenes.

Leave logic and morals at the door, then it is good

Like the title says it is not a good idea to think too much when viewing this one. If you are science fiction oriented you might be shocked at the logic behind the time aspects and if you expect a family movie you are out of luck.
On the other hand this movie is perfect escapist enjoyment. Just go with the "plot" and enjoy the show.

Hot Tub Time Machine Not So Hot
Created: 09/08/10
This film starts out with a great premise. Traveling in time back to the 80s. Having been in my early twenties during that period I thought this movie would be entertaining for me. While the movie did have quite a few laughs I found the extensive use of the "F word" to be very distracting. There are thousands of words in the english language and many more funny than that. I did like the bit about Crispin Glovers arm. That was very funny and creative.
Overall however I would have to say the film was a bit of a disapointment. Rent but dont buy.
If you want to see a top notch buddy comedy get The Hangover instead.
