I have always used HP printers 7550 7350 , Pros and cons compared to HP 7550 printer and the Hp 4400c scanner
Pros: Windows 7 compatible simple install, wireless no USB connection needed, can work with ipod and other wireless devices, scanner built in compact takes up little space, super quiet, Great price for a basic printer.
Cons: Photo quality not the best, Does not have alot of options for print quality or paper type mainly because it is pretty much a basic printer/scanner, Scans slow, basic scan features.
Bottomline: For the low price it is what it is. You pay for what you get, You need something for high photo quality or professional printing or a high variety of glossy paper then this is not for you. If you have a camera with more than 12 megapixals get a better printer to better match it. Otherwise for the family basic use it is perfect. The best feature is the wireless wifi feature which is simple to install. Warning: HP essentials Software works fair to good but we did like that it is cleverly designed to try to make you accidently go to the purchase upgrades page. HP essentials software is down right fustrating and not easy to figure out how to use which takes more unessesary time, paper, and ink to make a project print out correctly the way you want it. I removed it and replaced it with a simple basic photo software purchased from staples that is much easier and more FUN for the family to use.

I needed to replace an old HP deskjet that I've had for more than 5 years that finally decided to stop working properly. I did a lot of research online and quickly got very caught up with all of these massive all-in-one devices that had way more functionality than I would ever need. If you are like me and just need a home printer to print the occasional directions/maps, recipes, coupons, bills, etc., then this is definitely the printer for you.
Before you buy a printer online you need to go to a store and see just how large these all-in-one devices actually are. My wife took one look at them and told me there is no way that is going in our home office even if it also served as a micro fridge and coffee maker. The great thing about this HP 3050 is that it has a much smaller footprint than most all-in-one printers. It has print, copy, and scan functionality, but no fax. Who needs a fax these days anyways when you can just scan a file and then email the scanned document. Most devices don't have a fax out capability anyways so unless you are operating a business out of your house and you receive a lot of faxes the lack of fax on this model should not be a problem.
The printer is not too heavy and it's packaged really well in the box. Instead of being wrapped in styrofoam it is secured with recycled cardboard and wrapped in a reusable canvas bag that you can use for your groceries. It comes with a quick installation guide, as most HP printers do, and the set up went very smoothly with no problems. There is one piece of cardboard wedged inside near the ink cartridges that I missed, but the printer told me of my error and it was easy enough to remove.
Setting up wireless was also not a problem, but you will need to be familiar with your wireless network security settings in order to get the printer connected. An alternative is just using the USB cable, which is nicely included in the box. I haven't played around with web printing yet, but it's not hard to just plug the USB cable into my desktop or laptop and print what I need.
The only negative I can think of is that the printing is a bit loud, but unless you're keeping the printer in the room with the baby crib the noise isn't THAT loud that it would be a dealbreaker. Ink consumption so far is not noticeably different than my prior HP, but I don't print all that much all that often so this is tough to measure for me.
Overall a high quality printer with all the functionality non business users would need with a smaller footprint and lower price tag than most other all-in-one printers.

This Hewlett Packard DestJet 3050 All-in-one printer has good quality print with an economical pricetag. Almost whisper quiet in operation. It has a fast easy set-up process, its compact, sleek & light weight design makes this printer easy to take on the road if needed. The wireless network works great easily up to 25 feet away(i haven't tested it further than 25 feet yet)~Ink cartridges can get pricey from stores but if you purchase ink online or from ebay the ink cartridges are econimical~So the only drawback i find with this printer is the slow scan/copy feature which is miniscule in comparison to low price, quality & performance of this printer~

I bought this printer after my HP printer I've had for eight years broke down so I know HP quality is good. This is a good unit for an economical price. It was easy to hook up. It did not take long at all. I actually use the USB currently and it works just fine. I find the quality of print of documents to be excellent. The scan is good but a little slow. If you are looking for a high quality picture printer this is not the one, this is a more basic printer. I was also pleased that this printer fit in the shelf under my computer which some of the other more expensive units would not have done. The amount of print you get from the basic ink cartridge is limited so use the 61+. To sum it up I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a basic printer at an economical price.

HP Deskjet 3050 Printer

This Hewlett Packard printer has very good print and scan quality for such a low priced unit. I purchased it for the express purpose of printing my disk labels without tying up our main printer. The shortcoming is the very small and costly ink cartridges but that's the price you pay for buying an economical printer
