HP LaserJet 1200 Workgroup Laser Printer

I have had previous experience with the model of HP Printer and it has been an exceptional workhorse of a printer with the absolute minimum of maintenance. Interestingly enough the toner cartridge in a new capacity works for what one might consider a longer amount of time which translates into a higher amount of pages. That being due to printing adjustments of how much in needs to be used for whatever type of printing. It also is an extremely easy cartridge removal and refill if one is inclined. I am on a 3rd refill on a new cartridge that I have installed and it is still printing crisp[ and clear and I even sometimes print 100% of sheet coverage and it is great (opposed to the industry standard of 5% which I also use and is exceptional). I currently have one and work and bought this one for home and unless I start needing 11 x 17. I will continue to use this as long as the fuser holds out and I haven't replaced with yet or there are no more cartridges are available for me to refill, which I doubt...One of a select few of outstanding workhorse printers HP has produced over the past 10 years or so...

These printers were made before the wave of really cheap, inexpensive low quality lasers were released. Toner cartridge is reasonably priced with a rated 3,500 page yield at 5.5% page coverage.

Only flaw is a weak input paper tray that will snap if you lean on it or place heavy objects on it- easily replaced though. Print speed of 15 PPM and 1200 dpi print resolution make for high quality images.

I've used on of these same printers on my desktop computer for years. Very durable and trouble free unit. Other family members have gone through multiple inkjet printers while I'm still using this model. Made this purchase for my new laptop, as I knew the durability of printer. Cost was reasonable and so are refilled cartridges on ebay. This one had only printed 8500 copies and looks like new. Came with cables. Windows 7 Premium 64 bit laptop works fine with printer via USB cable. Used for 3 days now, and very happy with purchase. DAVE

Output is very quick, and print quality is excellent. This printer has a fairly small footprint, so it will fit in some places that other printers won't. It is very easy and convenient to print out my single envelopes because of the location of the input tray and single sheet feeder. The only weakness is the print tray/cover. If you leave the tray hanging out over the edge of the table, you take a change of breaking it if you bump into it.

We have purchased (5) total of this model printer for our business. After 100,000 pages one simply wore out - no complaints there! Three others have been used on a daily basis since 2002 and, to coin a phrase, keep going and going...like the energizer bunny. Toner is relatively inexpensive and lasts longer than I initially expected . I would certainly recommend this printer and not hesitate to buy another if need be. Kudos to rdrumm (eBay seller) for his excellent reconditioning and packaging of the used printer that I last purchased. Be careful when buying used. Check prior sales and feedback - it's there for a reason!
