HP OfficeJet H470 Mobile Inkjet Printer

Prints just as good as any other inkjet printer. Love the portability and I can take it anywhere with me and no need to worry about a power source due to the battery. Also will print high quality photos with the optional photo ink cartridge. Highly recommend for someone who has the need for a portable printer.

I liked the size of the printer as I don't have much room, and it seemed to have the right print speed. Its a mobile printer which I don't have need of but liked it for its size and print capabilities. I am reasonably experienced enough that I can handle most installs of hardware and software by myself.

First off, the black cartridge wouldn't seat properly, had to call tech. support. The tech. couldn't even get my name and email right without combining them until I yelled. When I would say OK or done, he didn't seem to understand. He had me clean the contacts and seat and reseat the cartridge, turn off the printer, unplug it, clear the memory, etc. Then finally it worked all of a sudden. When we were finishing up the call he said what I thought was that I would get 2 free cartridge shipped free to me. I thanked him profusely thinking it might have been because of the inconvenience. He kept going on and on, until I heard him say that it would cost me about $59 and I hit the roof. I told him I thought he said it would be free, and he said that cartridges are too expensive to give away. I told him in no uncertain terms that I would not pay for cartridges that I could get a lot cheaper over the internet.

Secondly, printing of any other document than the config page went so slowly, took about 20 minutes, was doing a line every 30 sec. or so. Called tech. support again and they used remote control to investigate my computer, which was fascinating to watch, and they decided that they would replace printer. Said they would have it picked up and deliver the new one in 12 days, and that I had to give them debit/cc data to insure they got their product back. I complained about the wait time, and they said they could do it sooner, but it would cost me about $30 for shipping. So now I wait.

Their tech. support personnel are from India or something. Hard to understand, and they don't understand a lot of everyday word usage. Was frustrating experience with the first tech. and the second was much better because he did all the work and we didn't interact all that much. I hate the fact that HP outsources their tech. support to some foreign country and takes jobs away from the US.

Even with my problems I feel (hope) that the printer will be excellent once I get one that works. Hope I never have to deal with tech. support again.

FIRST.....this is advertised as "WINDOWS 7 READY".
This is NOT true. HP does NOT have the drivers for the wireless feature for windows 7 ...their website says they are working on it, yet I'm still waiting for the drivers for my other HP printer for VISTA!!!!!!!!!!

SECOND....wireless feature (I can only use it with my other computer that has VISTA) only communicates with a router...not directly with the computer (like bluetooth)...that means for every hotel I bring my "mobile wirelss printer" to, I must reinstall (and it is a painsteaking process) the software for every different router..

This printer is worthless.....my advice for those that travel and need the mobile printer..just by a cheaper one (as low as $60) and throw it out after your done with it.

I ordered the printer to be used on the road as we go to Yuma, AZ in the winter and I was looking for a product that was compact. I believe it is one of the smallest on the market that is wireless and of good quality. The value for the price was good to. Overall, we are very happy with our HP H470 printer.

It was a present for my Wife. She adores it. It works well on the road however I'm ansiouse to see how it works wireless and or with the battery pack which I now have to purchase.I recommend one of these printers for the person on the go who haS print docs immediatlyt.
