HP PhotoSmart 7550 Standard Inkjet Printer

When I bought this printer it was just released and was top of the line. To this day, over 4 years later, this printer can still out-perform some of the best on the market today. Although this printer was not built for speed, the pictures are clear and rich in color. Another great feature this printer has is multiple memory card inputs and a LCD screen that allows you to print directly from your memory card without using the computer.
The only problems that I have run across have been the cost to replace the three cartridges needed to print. As far as how fast the printer uses the ink all depends on what you will use the printer for. Obviously it will drain the cartridges much faster if you only print photos. With normal use they last. If your wondering how you track the ink levels in all three cartridges, no need to worry, the printer software shows an estimated ink level so you can track the usage from one project to the next.
To bring things to a close, the printer is somewhat clunky by today's standards but in my opinion can prints circles....or squares.....or whatever else your camera lens catches...around most of the printers on the market today for a fraction of the price. My advice, buy used save a bundle and enjoy the quality for years to come.

I have had this since brand new I bought it about 4-5 years ago...and I love it....a couple years ago I had a paper jam and I had to really work on getting it out...since then it will only load one paper at a time without problems. I still love it..... I bought a brand new one last year but still use this one for photos as I think the quality is much better than my new one.
I have had photos for years without any fading...and find that HP paper works best better than kodak...
The ink is a little high but I print a lot of photos and it seems reasonable to me....The low on ink light will come on before you really need to replace the ink...so dont replace ASAP.... I want to buy a used one because I love mine so much... but I am hoping to get one without the jam problem
I caused.... and I will pass mine onto my son as it still is great to me....
I have windows xp and it works fine with that .... It is the quality of the print I love so much.....If you want quality of photo this is the best.. It has lasted me many years and still prints great and I print a lot of pictures.
It makes a little noise but that is no concern to me....to me I can hear when it is done.....Follow the instructions on how to fix paper jams and how to replace the ink which is simple....and you wont have problems....

Nice printer and have two 7550. I recommend over 7350 by far for photos. But if you plan to use the memory card readers they never work for me but then again I have M series HP cameras which I do not recommend getting especially because the M series software is a like installing a virus that cannot be fully uninstalled and the worst software ever developed.
Sometimes I have issues with printer recognizing new printer cartridges and have to keep triing to reload it till it recognizes the new cartridge, but other than that it is pretty easy to use and setup and trouble free. Only gripe is the share to the web folder. One of those extras you cant remove and rarely use if it at all. Not a big fan of HP software because they dont give you the option to custom install or uninstall without issues. If you plan to upgrade to win7 the win7 advisor says compatability unknown. For 98 2000 ME XP are what the printer drivers CD says!
Overall: Makes decent high quality photos and works great as a quality printer and very resume worthy. Has a removable back for banners and other oversized printing. Has a nice easy to use 4x6 tray for photos or envelopes. Can also adjust to handle any size paper, photo paper, or index card. If using a scanner also works great as copier and can reproduce as good as the original being copied.

I had one of these printers when they first came out.It was outstanding, the pictures were crisp and clear and the printer it self was easy to operate with my PC.I used it for meny years until it just wore out. My doughter lost the printer I bought her last Christmas in a fire and I saw this printer on ebay and sense I still had a lot of new ink cartridges and a attachment to allow this printer to print both sides of the paper thought this printer would be ideal for her.I received the printer in a short period of time and it was just as advertised clean and operational.I am very pleased with my purchase and I know my daughter will enjoy the printer for a long long of time.

I owned one of these printers previously, however my cartridge carrier jammed and was not repairable. Since HP doesn't make these anymore or sell them, I was on a mission to locate one. It prints the best photos of any printer I have and I have 4 - 1 only a year old. I dislike the fact that HP does not sell this product anymore. It's one of the best ever in my opinion.
