Good Quality Product

Created: 25/10/05
The PSC 750 is the first really affordable All-in-one I remember being on the market. As such, it is a little outdated on terms of performances and printing options but it is more robust and accessible than the newer products.

Printing quality is good in normal and super modes. I don't recommand printing graphics and photographs in draft mode. The paper tray has a capacity of about 50 sheets and the printed pages are ejected in an upper tray, minimizing paper jams and ink smear.

The scanner offers good quality and is fast for its time of construction.

As a copier, the PSC 750 delivers good quality reproductions in color or black and white at the touch of a button.

The printer is robust and the few mobile pieces stay in place even when moving the PSC 750. The ink cartridges are easy to reach and easily replaceable. The few paper jams I experienced are easily corrected because we can reach the paper sheet wherever it is jammed in the PSC 750.

The only negative point of the PSC 750 is the cost of ink cartridges. Like other HP products, the cartridges offer good quality, very seldom dries out and include the print heads.

To conclude, the HP PSC 750 is a discontinued product but I would recommand anyone to buy a used one.

Effective and accurate title I found product

Created: 05/08/10
the hp psc 750 and the hp psc 950 are some of the last all-in-one printers that use the large print cartridges. I like the features of the all-in-one and use all aspects of this machine. Newer machines include auto feed and this is just one more item to break or malfunction. I would like to be able to buy an all-in-one that does not include the autofeed. The HP photosmart series is close to the HP PSC 750 and 950 but most use very small cartridges and multiple cartridges for the color - I prefer the single color cartridge. This was a good product and I wish HP had continued to market it.

A Solid Machine For The Money

Created: 13/09/06
I will agree with the review by 'rosaireouellet' - the PSC-750 is a solid Print/Scan/Copy machine.

I use the PSC-750 at home, and the compact PSC-1210 in my Semi (see my review of that model also). Both are excellent at the Print/Scan/Copy functions, each achieving the same resolution, which helps maintain consistency as I move my laptop back and forth between the two. Either will also do reasonably good Photo printing - though not as good as the newer dedicated photo printers (see my review of the HP 335, for example).

HP's newer 'All-In-One Solution' driver software for the 1210 (free download from the HP site) will also run the PSC-750 (and many other models), greatly simplifying the moves from one printer to the other. The newer software package also has a Scan Director and Photo Print Manager that is vastly superior to the original PSC-750 driver.

My only complaint on the PSC-750 is that the cartridges don't last as long as they should - but that may be from leaving it turned ON excessively.

Good Hardware but the [Mac] Software [stinks]

Created: 14/10/06
There is one basic compatiblity problem with the mac driver software for this printer, hp has known about for AT LEAST 5 years and has never bothered to fix it.

The basic Macintosh problem is the sleep mode for the printer is NOT compatible with hp own driver software. If the printer ever goes to sleep, you need to "reset" the printer by "reinstalling" the driver software. The printer must ALWAYS be on and awake whenever you mac is on (even if it is in sleep mode). If you use this printer with a Macintosh it will work fine but you MUST implement the following 2 steps.

1) Set the printer's default sleep mode to "Never".

2) Write yourself an applescript to automatically "re-install" the driver software and include this applescript in your "Startup items" folder in your system folder. While this second step is not neccessary if you are very very careful about disabling the sleep mode and the order you power-up, it is much easier just to include it. It can run just fine as a background task in finder and boot-up is NOT slower (since in run in background after boot).
