San Francisco's Huey Lewis & the News exploded onto the 1980s music scene with a radio-friendly brand of proletarian pop that followed the basic structural formula of '50s rock and overlaid it with '80s tech trappings. This release captures the band at the height of their success with a concert appearance recorded for Germany's ROCKPALAST television series in 1984, delivering live renditions of such Top 10 hits as "Heart of Rock and Roll," "If This is It," and "I Want a New Drug."

) This DVD is of footage of a live concert made for a German TV TV show, "Rockpalast". It was filmed during the band's heyday, circa 1984, so don't expect the same sound quality of present day concerts. The video is good, but is still reminescent of the vdeo techniques of that time....much of today's video quality is somewhat better. It contains most of the hits from the album "Sports"...and lots of impromptu jamming on stage. The keyboards could have been placed higher in the audio mix, but overall a good video to own of Huey and the band when they were actually experiencing their new success.
