    Publisher's Note
Okay, so at least you're interested enough to pick up this book and look inside. I think you and I are going to get along just fine.

Life is full of choices. Right now, yours is whether or not to buy the autobiography of a mid-grade, kind of hammy actor.

Am I supposed to know this guy? you think to yourself.

No, and that's exactly the point. Bookstores are chock full of household name actors and their high stakes shenanigans. I don't want to be a spoilsport, but we've all been down that road before.

Case in point: look to your left - see that Judy Garland book? You don't need that, you know plenty about her already - great voice, crappy life. Now look to your right at the Charlton Heston book. You don't need to cough up hard-earned dough for that either. You know his story too - great voice, crappy toupee.

The truth is that though you might not have a clue who I am, there are countless working stiffs like me out there, grinding away every day at the wheel of fortune.

If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor is my first book, and I invite you to ride with me through the choppy waters of blue collar Hollywood.

Okay, so buy the damned book already and read like the wind!

    Best,
    Bruce Campbell

P.S. If the book sucks, at least there are gobs of pictures, and they're not crammed in the middle like all those other actor books.

If Chins Could Kill by Bruce Campbell

    Created: 07/10/09
It was an internet search on indie film making that kept bringing up this book. I liked Bruce Campbell in Briscoe County and I still enjoy his work on Burn Notice but it was my aspirations as a wannabe indie film maker that prompted me to get it as a reasearch item. It did not disappoint.

After telling about his eqarly life and career Campbell cuts to the chase and gets into the brass tacks of making an idie film. This is not a technical manual but a real world look at what you are getting into if you decide to make an indie. Unlike so many "stars", Campbell has earned every penny the hard way. He has a very tight grip on the reality of both the art and business of movie making.

After reading it I was motivated to buy two Campbell DVDs, "My Name is Bruce" and "Bubba Ho-tep". And I BOUGHT them people, I didn't download them or watch them 10 minutes at a time on Youtube! They validated what I read in the book.

The book is an interesting story in itself and made for a good read although the introduction by his publisher left me with a few unanswered questions. All in all I very satisfied with mu purchase.

This book is an insightful look into the life and misadventures of B movie film star Bruce Campbell. "If chins could kill" is a very interesting look at the life of BC growing up in Michigan and eventually landing in of all places Oregon. It was very inspiring and very funny. Pick it up and never let it go.

A great read about the inside of hollywood

    Created: 01/06/06
This is a book that you can enjoy without even knowing who Bruce Campbell is. This book is really a narrative look inside movie making and what its like for all of the non "stars". The book is easy to read, and laugh out loud funny at times while explaining how films are really made. Whether your a Bruce fan or just wanted to know about film and tv making in hollywood today you cannot go wrong with this book.
