If Grace is True

A wonderful book to open dialogue to a debate that took place centuries ago at the Council of Nicea, where the nicean creed took form. Accept those who were opposed to the trinitarian model were not outrightly speaking for universalism but for the different nature of Jesus. I see the passion and some great truths spoken in this book concerning the church's need for seeing the EVER MOVING GOD.
Yet I am disappointed about the author's support for his view coming mainly from his emotional and subjective views from his experiences in life. He says that experiences are all we can go by which is futile. The bible is not something to be picked apart and chosen for your tastes. that is including the divisions of protestants, catholics, methodist, baptist who all do this. But they do not divide with the fundamental truth of Jesus divinity. He says Jesus went against the scriptures so should we. Yet Jesus did not go against the fundamental aspect of a ONE-true God and but only the manmade-rules and regulations of the Jewish law. Also using Peter vision for the idea of God's universalism, yet Peter vision was understand in the light of Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior.
Read this book, understand it because many of our brothers and sisters in Christ are struggling with predestination and with a hell and why evil exists. You need to read this for a great perspective.
I am sadden that throughout the book he has to speak about how he has not gone to hell, been in disease or lived in poverty. It saddens me that Christians who speak grace, shut out and hurt this man and his life rather than have open and loving dialogue. James Mulholland and Philip Gulley are people God loves and he will show his love through Jesus Christ as Lord and savior of the world.
The book of Mark, Matt, Luke, John speak to the testament that Jesus came here to be more than a prophet, teacher, even messiah. Phillipians 2:1-11 especially verse 6- being in very nature God. I dont use this verse to prove my point rather to allow people to search the scriptures and know Jesus as what Phillipians 2:1-11 have him as. DOnt just go read phillipians 2:1-11, read the gospels and see not what I make of Jesus but what the scriptures and the church make of Jesus.

If Gracer Is True

This is a wonderful book for those of us who have had trouble with the "traditional" Christian exclusive truth claims and the view that "some must be damned" if we don't respond in in a prescribed manner to assure salvation (i.e. reward in heaven). The concepts put forth free us to appreciate Jesus and to feel loved and accepted by God. Grace is not limited to this lifetime, but will be offered as long as it takes until we all are drawn to the love God offers us freely. I have given copies to friends of this and another book by the same authors, If God Is Love. Both are exceptional and thought provoking.
