If Only He Knew: Understanding Your Wife by Gary Smalley and Norma Smalley (1982, Paperback, Revised)

This book helps men understand the true needs, emotions and feelings of their wives. The author is funny and down to earth, using his own personal stories to illustrate his points. Most importantly, he uses biblical examples to teach about this intriguing subject of "marriage". It's great! I was glad that my husband chose to purchase it on his own volition.

My wife & I have been married nearly 30 years now. We, like everyone else, have had the normal (and some not-so-normal) problems. This book addresses many of the issues that we have had to face together and some issues that I have dealt with seemingly alone.

Even though I wish I knew where this book was while I was younger and going through these things, perhaps I wouldn't have responded to many of the truths unveiled inside this book without seeing for myself my needs for intimacy and the closeness I could have with my wife simply by asking her.

This book reveals, for me, some of the things that I have stubbornly learned on my own, from personal trials and errors. (where was this book when I needed it? LOL) I would highly recommend this book for any man who desires a closer and more secure relationship with his wife.

I purchased this book from Ebay for a couple of reasons. I am married woman, married to a wonderful man.....but nomatter how well things may be going in your world, there are no promises that things could change overnight. Keeping a marriage strong is a 24/7 job. It takes work and it takes having the Lord in your home. Although this is an old book, based on christian views, the values still stand true today. Nothing has changed in how God wants us to love eachother......only the world around us has changed. I actually enjoy and appreciate the "old fashioned views" given in Gary Smalleys books, and I appreciate the old fashioned husband that God gave to me.

This book has really helped my marriage, I looked into it and bought, and my husband really like it, he says it's helped him understand me better and tend to my needs better! Great book!
