If You Believe

A great movie for the whole family because there is nothing objectionable for children to see, although it is more of interest to adults who get the 'overload' syndrome best. It is full of holiday moments perfect to watch around Christmas. It is my very favorite Christmas movie! Tom Amandes (like a modern day Jimmy Stewardt)is a dream as the leading role! The story revolves around Susan Stone (Ally Walker) who becomes an imbittered work-a-holic, disillusioned by life/love. The holidays hold no joy for her and her attitude causes her more disconnections to the people around her. It is only memories revived from her "inner child" (is it a dream from a bump on the head or is she really there?) that remind Susan of how life can be and where the good is around her. Life can hold joy again. 5 Star!!!!!!

Ally Walker is wonderful as the grown-up Susan, an embittered book editor who is visited by Suzie (herself as a child) played by Hayden Panettiere. This movie is well-written, well acted, and builds to a charming and heart-warming conclusion. Of all the Christmas movies visiting the theme created by Dickens so many years ago, this is one of my favorite

Funny yet serious movie about changes when we grow up!

"If you believe" is one of the best let's deal with the changes concerning our lives when we grow up. Wouldn't it be wonderful if our own eight year old versions could come back and remind us of how we use to act. How we didn't care what other people thought as long as it was good clean fun? This movie shows you that sometimes we all need a little reminder of what it was like when we were young- to be careful, open, loving, and not judgemental!!!

Ally Walker is fantastic and plays her part to perfection. She is glum and unappealing for about 5 minutes in the beginning, but then you begin to love her and her faults and foibles. From that, the love fest grows. I bought this for 3 friends and our local library. This is a classic like "It's A Wonderful Life".

Don't have a VCR anymore, so bought this movie on DVD

One of my wife's favorite movies is "If you Believe", but we only had it in VCR. And we no longer own a VCR player. So I found it and bought it on line. Reasonable price. The guy was a bad communicator, I almost had to threaten him after 10 days, and the movie said it was in European style. But it arrived finally and did play right in our DVD player, so momma is happy...
