I have actually decided to buy another copy of this movie, my fourth time actually, because my friends borrow it and want to keep it. I love classical music but even if you don't you will love this movie, because you love music. It is the story of Beethoven and his "Immortal Beloved" the heir to the composers music. It is the most beautiful story and the whole thing is based on a true story. If you need a romantic movie, you have to watch this one, it is a tearjerker though so have kleenex handy.

Immortal memories of this film

This movie has it all. Gary Oldman as always is magnetic and plays the part of Beethovens myriad moods to a par excellance. Th women who portray the various women who could have been the mysterious Immortal Beloeved that beethovwen wrote about are all wonderful. The set and period dress is lavish and beutiful to see. There are parts of this film that you will not forget. I liked that much of the film was based on fact, even if the Immortal Beloved is never really known for fact. Gary Oldman and cast and crew all should have won an Oscar for this epic film. Also the soundtrack is a testimony to the remarkable way the film accomapnaies the music Beethoven composed.

Ludwig's Great Love

Created: 18/04/11
The story of Beethoven and his one, true love, supposedly. Gary Oldsman is great as the tempestuous Ludwig Van Beethoven. I don't know if this story is true, but the parts about his composing the music and his deafness certainly are. It's definitely worth watching.

Perfection

Created: 06/08/10
The cast was perfect. After seeing a book with sketches of the real Beethoven you can see that Gary Oldman's movements were perfection. Of course the music was outstanding and performed with perfection also.
Even if you are not a fan of classical music, the mystery in the story should keep most people entertained.

Immortal Beloved

Gary Oldman is superb in this "classic" just as he was in "The Scarlet Letter". Beethoven's secret immortal beloved shall remain un-named here. You will have to find out for yourself the indentity of this mystery woman.
I love the genius of his music which includes sonatas, concertos, and of course Für Elise.
