A Pleasant Period Piece
Created: 05/06/09
Most of this story is quite charming, though a teensy bit predictable, but it's based on the Louisa May Alcott novel that she wrote when she was a teen, so it's got an expected measure of youthful drama and romance. The sets are splendid....and it's been well cast as the characters evoke exactly the feelings the author intended. A very nice film for the whole family. If you are a fan of period film and you'd like a happy journey away from your serious life....this will do the trick!

I'VE NEVER READ THE BOOK, BUT I LOVE THE MOVIE. I SAW THE MOVIE WHEN I WAS YOUNGER AND FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. IT'S A GREAT STORY OF LOVE, TRUTH, FAMILY, CONFIDENCE IN ONE'S SELF, AND THE STRENGTH TO DO WHAT'S RIGHT. THE HEART OF AN HONEST AND GOOD PERSON ALWAYS WINS AGAINST THAT OF HATE AND EVIL.

I love this classic story. Louisa May Alcott did not just write Little Women. This is another beautiful story by this talented author. I saw this when my sister taped it off television. I fell in love with the story and the characters. I had to have it for my DVD collection.

A Heartwarming Tale of Love and Loyalty
Created: 18/05/07
This movie is a charming example of the late Louisa May Alcott's ability to draw a reader (or viewer) into her story. Within just a few minutes, you know who the true and noble characters are and also the deceitful ones as well. True love conquers many obstacles and the righteous heroine overcomes them all not by the power of her voice, but through the quietness of her virtue. A satisfying ending to a tale with a few twists and surpises make for a delightful hour and a half of entertainment.
