Iron Maiden - Live After Death (DVD, 2008, 2-Disc Set, Explicit Version)

This is the dvd that most Iron Maiden fans have been waiting to see for years! The film quality is excellent and the production is very well done. The first part of the dvd shows Iron Maiden on one the stops during their World Slavery Tour of 84-85. The concert is from Long Beach Arena in California and was one of a few dates they played there in a row. For those who own the Live After Death album, be aware that this film was shot on a different night so it won't sound exactly the same as your album does. There are times when Bruce Dickinson's voice is a little rough but overall he gives yet another excellent performance and the band is right on the money. All your favorite Maiden songs are on here as well as some of the classic songs from their various albums.

Also included in this dvd is a segment called "'Ello Texas" which is a combination of live footage as well as interview footage shot with Steve Harris and Bruce Dickinson. The concert and interview footage is from 1983 and their Piece Of Mind tour. Once again it's excellent quality film and a great look at the band in action. There is also another segment called "Behind The Iron Curtain" which gives a short documentary on their tour when they were in various countries such as Poland. There's live footage as well as footage of the band arriving in Poland and boarding their tour bus while throngs of Maiden fans showed up to see them for the very first time.

Included also in this dvd is some footage from the 1985 Rock In Rio festival. The film isn't in the greatest of shape but it's a nice look at the very first Rock In Rio concert. And Finally there is the "History Of Iron Maiden: Part 2" which is a nice look at the history of one of the top heavy metal bands of all-time. If you're an Iron Maiden fan you won't want to miss not buying this dvd. It is truly worth the price and you won't be disappointed.

Up The Irons!!

This 3 hour DVD is what Maiden is all about. These guys are the best LIVE band ever. I have seen DOZENS of bands in concert who sound horrible live-not with Iron Maiden. This DVD proves how well this band is put together from the studio albums to the concert productions to management. This band, during the World Slavery tour, sold out Long Beach three nights in a row. That is rather impressive for a band who gets practically gets no tunes played on the airwaves, except for Run to the Hills and rarely played Two Minutes 2 Midnight. The coverage of this two discs DVD goes privately into the backstage production of the band, producer, crew and management of the creative processes in the writing and planning of such a tour. Exhaustion had set in to the band and production crew toward the end of this World Slavery Tour, 193 concerts played, however, the band gave all they had to perform. A Maiden fan will find hours of listening and viewing enjoyment. Check out this statistic; all over Brazil and S. America, Maiden performed to over 350,000 audiences. There largest single concert was performed in this region. Maiden doesn't disappoint. "SCREAM FOR ME LONG BEACH!"

This is video shot during Iron Maidens' 1984-85 "World Slavery" Tour. The video was shot at the Long Beach Arena during 4 nights they played there. It differs slighty from the CD of the same name, but basically the same set. This tour is considered to be Maiden at their peak. At the time, this was the worlds longest concert tour on record, it ran for approx. 11 months!

This is a must see/have DVD for the true Iron Maiden fan. If you missed them on this tour, this DVD will more than make up for the missed opportunity. I have watched this video over and over again and am amazed and delighted to watch the lads perform one of the most memorable concerts in rock history.

Iron Maiden never disappointed me..Being a fan since 1981 when i first heard Wrathchild and the killers album, IM was always refreshing and I always couldn't wait for them to put out new music eavery year...Seeing them live since 1981 on every tour is great because I always left the concerts feeling happy,excitedand fired up!!....Iron Maiden is consistently one of the best bands I have ever seen live and i have seen over 1000 concerts in my life!!!.....The DVD's they release are well worth the price...always including tons of extras and bonus footage and filmed in high quality...If you don't have this dvd in your collection, I highly recommend it...Now I am waiting for a new dvd from the 2005 tour..hopefully that may be out soon!!!

I went to the concert in San Diego of World Slavery Tour 23 years ago.
The same year I bought the LP and the the CD.
Finally, after a long-waiting period, I get this piece of art on DVD format.
