Not my usual type of game...but actually like it alot!

Jaws Unleashed, I admit, was a purchase for my son. Given my handle here, one would expect me to stick to military and Grand Theft Auto games. But as I play it more, have to say it's really a fun diversion from killing terrorists and taking over businesses by force and intimidation.
Set in the waters around an East Coast island, Jaws Unleashed basically gives you what the title states...you are Jaws, and you're unleashed to do what sharks do. Mainly eating. Breaking out of an aquatic park of sorts, you then go out into the open waters to defeat evil chemical companies, disrupt mining, and just wreak havoc in many interesting ways. Attributes like speed, health, and a few others can be upped by spending points earned by wrecking boats, chomping swimmers, and completing side or main objective missions. In a way it is sort of a sandbox game in that you can choose just to cruise the open waters and gather hidden prizes, or do the missions at leisure.
Control is pretty easily mastered, and gets better with attribute upgrades. Jaws is capable of a few neat tricks, like tail whips, charge attacks, and then, after upgrading, some really cool and intricate attacks. Being able to hold items such as barrels and mines in your mouth and spitting them at high speed at targets is a little far fetched, but gets the job done in alot of the missions. The missions themselves are pretty inventive, allowing Jaws to put his skills to use in many varied ways.
Graphics are pretty good, one gripe is the knack for nearby marine life or targets to just disappear at random, but there is a hugely diverse amount of creatures out in the deep and one can have fun just exploring and tasting all of them.
This game is now out retail for $20 or so, so look for good bargains here. Overall a very interesting and satisfying romp in the waves. There is some serious and detailed gore, so maybe the more squeamish youngsters should be steered away, but no profanity makes it a good play for young or adolescent boys. Or even grownups like me looking for a change of pace!

JAWS Unleashed "Best Game Ever Made" Very fun!

This game has to be one of the most fun games to play out there. It has the free roam gta play, you are Jaws the shark, swimming in the free ocean... eating, biting, chewing, and tearing apart anything and anyone that gets in your way! This includes, boats, ships, bridges, big fish tanks, sea doos, aquatic life, people, especially the people.... and many more things living or not. The controls are perfect, the graphics are perfect, the story and gameplay is perfect. Usually games based on movies are not so good, but this wasn't based after a movie, it's related. So being that, there was no time limit getting it out, and it was made with much care. One of my all time favorite games. Even if you aren't a fan of jaws, I think you will like this one. Just so much fun.

Jaws...sick but fun!

If you are a Jaws fan, you might just like this game. You get to swim through the oceans, eat other sharks and sea creatures, eat people, distroy boats, docks, boathouses, ect. There are main missions, side missions and games, all eating and distroing something. Yes there is blood, yes there is screeming (no bad language). All in all, it is a very sick game, but fun. My 12 year old son keeps telling me that I am sick and disturbed. Ha! Ha! My biggest problem with the game, is that it loads very very slowly. This may just be my very old system. So, if your looking for good clean sick fun where you can eat pesky life guards and distroy sherif boats, this is the game for you. Have Fun!

Jaws Unleashed

Great graphics, lots of blood and destruction. Sometimes shark movement a little frustrating, some scenes requiring you to make it through or find a very small hole just big enough to fit through...
The usual amount of figuring out what secrets there are to getting through some scenes....
Keep immediately increasing the shark's abilities as you accumulate points; this helps immensely.
Neat little tidbits about filming the movie while you wait for scenes or levels to load.

I like this game! Being the shark was brilliant!

Now even though the controls are a little hard to get used to and to figure out parts of the game can be difficult, if it was easier then gamers would complain that it was too easy. Personally, I thought the idea that you play as one of the greatest movie villians of all times was brilliant. I pre-ordered this game when it was being relased, then I played it non-stop until it was completed, then I have played it to the end now several times. Every time I play it I like it a little more. JAWS is my favorite movie of all times and now I can play a game as him (or her, in the movie the like shark sequences keep changing it from male to female and in the book it shows that he is a male). This is not for little kids, but it was never meant to be. Some of the missions are difficult and awkward to do, but again a game should be challenging. If you want something easy and straight forward go get a Disney game, otherwise, be a adult and get the one where you get to eat people and be not only one of films greatest villians, but also natures greatest killing machine.
