Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back - Snoogans!
Created: 11/08/06
Writer-director Kevin Smith's fifth and final installment of his New Jersey Chronicles (which began in 1994 with the breakout, low-budget comedy CLERKS) is a chance for scene-stealing, foulmouthed stoner Jay (Jason Mewes) and his taciturn sidekick/"hetero life mate" Silent Bob (Smith) to carry their own movie. When comic store mogul Brodie (Jason Lee, reprising his MALLRATS role) informs Jay and Silent Bob that a movie featuring their comic book alter egos, Bluntman and Chronic, is about to be made, the duo demands a cut from the comic's creator, Holden (Ben Affleck, in his CHASING AMY role). Holden explains that his ex-partner, Banky (Lee again) has sold them out, and shows them some angry Internet posts from Bluntman and Chronic fans. Fearing for their reputations, Jay and Silent Bob embark on a cross-country odyssey to Hollywood to stop the film. En route, they run afoul of a Charlie's Angels-type jewelry thief ring--one of whom, Justice (Shannon Elizabeth) takes a liking to Jay--an orangutan, a Federal Wildlife Marshall (Will Ferrell), and Miramax studio security. Smith's fond farewell to his intertwined Jersey characters is a lovingly crude, broad comedy rife with celebrity cameos, slapstick movie spoofs, and clever jabs at Hollywood.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE This Movie !!

This hilarious movie is definitely one that I guarantee you will watch over and over again. If you're familiar with Kevin Smith's other movies preceding this one, you'll recognise some of the one-liners that have been cleverly integrated into the script. This has a hilarious plot, of Jay and Silent Bob travelling to Hollywood after they realised a movie is being made of their comic book characters, Blunt Man and Chronic, without their permission. As per usual, they tend to run into a lot of trouble on their journey. Also, they meet a lot of interesting people along the way, making both friends and enemies with them. This movie is filled to the brim with memorable one-liners that you and your friends will recite to each other for fun. I know I text my buddies back and forth with some of the one-liners. In fact, I watched this movie three times in the last four days. Do NOT disregard this as a stupid stoner flick. Give it a chance, you WON'T be disappointed.

Great! Especially if you're Jay and Silent Bob fans

Finally, a movie about Jay and silent Bob! Essentially, Kevin Smith heard a lot of people expressing interest in these two characters who usually only have a small role in his films, so this was his chance to really show them off.
The DVD has some excellent outtakes too, which are great fun.
On the down side, it is a bit more Hollywood, and some of the movie sound effects get annoying (think Loony Tunes music associated with their actions).
The best part for me has to be the opening scene though, with Jay's impromptu "F**k" song - classic!

Great Cast (Minus Ben Affleck) Makes Jay & Bob Great
Created: 25/10/05
This movie is hilarious - the dilaouge is as funny as the cast of misfit cameos like Ben Affleck, Kevin Smith, Shannon Elizabeth, Will Ferrell, George Carlin, etc. The movie has no substantiative plot, but is funny nonetheless because of the witty one-liners and the overload of cursing (beware - not for kids!).
