Jenn-Air JGD8130 30 in. Gas Cooktop

Impossible to clean. Downdraft takes all the heat away from burners. Grill does not provide even heat. After 4 years the gas valves got sticky and one broke. Cost to fix almost like new cooktop. Time for parts 3 weeks!

I had the earlier version for 18 years and can say that this new upgrade is a breath of fresh air compared to the previous one: The two sealed burners are great, but I wish that the broiler were also. Also, I wanted them to allow us to turn off the fan even on the broiler side for when the insert is in place, but I already have installed an off switch that cutts off all elect to it, so... fixed it.

What I liked was definately the price and flexibility. This was a replacement for the one I purchased when they first came out. It woked well for our family of six including 4 very active boys. From other brands that I've seen, I do wish it had a stronget center fan, more gas pressure at the stovetop, and the ability to break it down to deep clean easier, but this thing is awesome as far as being able to change from a regular stovetop to a griddle, indoor BBQ and more. We have a microwave mounted above the cooktop that helps suck out the smoke so the fire alarm does not sound off each time we cook, so as long as you have that as well, I would definately recommend it.
