    The Pearl by John Steinbeck

    Created: 05/10/08
This classic version of The Pearl had input directly from author John Steinbeck, who assisted on the screenplay. Although it is old and not the best quality, the mood of the film matches that of the original book. It is dark, brooding and closely follows the plot of the book. One of the exceptions is the ending - Kino and Juana do not carry the body of their baby back to town. There are other minor deviations. I much prefer this to the newer version.
