John Wayne 20 Movie Pack (4 Disc Pack) (DVD, 2005, 4-Di
Created: 01/01/11
I bought this for my husband who loves John Wayne western movies. Yes this is a DVD set, but don't expect it to be in color except for the last two. The films are in original form. The first 18 films are in Black & White with the old technology of the film jumping in some places and sketchy sound. Remember some of these were made in the late thirties and forties, on reel film. The colored ones have a better quality to them. By then everything was in color and better production sets and sound. Over all not bad if you are a die hard fan and just love to watch western films with John Wayne in them. If your not I suggest maybe a different movie pack that has been digitally enhanced sound and color.

John Wayne 20 Movie Pack (4 Disk Pack)

Love John Wayne and don't think that there has ever been a better action movie actor. However, I was disappointed in the first 18 of the movies included because the were the OLD black and white versions. I had expected them to be colorized but they were not.
The last two movies were well worth owning, but probably could have been purchased at a better price. Believe that in the future I will look for some of the older actors like John Wayne by individual movie title. Further, I will double check to be sure that the DVD is not only remastered but is also in color.

John Wayne, "The Duke" shown in twenty films on DVD set
Created: 05/10/06
John Wayne, "The Duke" is shown in twenty films on this 4 DVD set. Great value for the western type film lover, many of these classic films were shot in black and white, and are shown here in the same format. Also includes a later film which was shot in color. This is a great collection of classic films at a very modest price, and highly reccomended to all.

John Wayne's Oldies-but Goodies

I bought one copy for my husband and one copy for my best friend... both who are avid John Wayne film fans. They were both extremely happy with the videos! MUCH to my surprise, I too, who would not at all consider myself a fan of westerns, enjoyed watching the movies with my husband. There were 20 videos in the set, and only 2 were in color, so they were my favorites... but not because they were in color, but because they were longer! Some of the films were much shorter, and very, very old. It was shocking to see John Wayne as young as he was in some of these. Yet the film quality was great. How surprised I was to sit and watch these films, truly enjoying them... I would suggest giving the set as a gift to ANY western film watcher. I am sure they would enjoy them as much as we all have.
