Jordin Sparks by Jordin Sparks (CD, Nov-2007, 19/Jive Recordings)

Most of the cd sounds like the Jordin from American Idol. There are a few songs (Shy Boy, Young and In Love, and See My Side)that area dancy and technotronic. But if you like her ballads and range, you'll enjoy the other 9 songs of the album.

Jordin Sparks, one of the winners of American Idol, has offered us a good, solid debut CD. I did not buy this CD immediately even though I voted for her to win. To my surprise, this POP album is pretty good. To date, I believe it has two or three singles released that you will recognize immediately. Jordin's voice is very melodic and, for such a young artist, she has good promise as a recording artist.

This is a good CD. I love the song "Tattoo", which is why I bought the CD in the first place, but the 2nd track "1 Step at a Time" is really good as well as the 5th track "Shy Boy". Plus, the bonus track #13 is the song she sang on the finale of AI last year. I'm not crazy about the duet with Chris Brown, but it's OK. And I must confess, I only give it a 4 because I have only listened to the last few tracks once- I wind up replaying the first 5 over and over again!It might actually be a 5 star rating! :)

-I REALLY LIKE HER VOICE AND A FEW OF HER SONGS ON THIS ALBUM. THESE AMERICAN IDOL GIRLS ARE REALLY A HUGE HIT! ALONG WITH JORDIN SPARKS, THERE'S KELLY CLARKSON WHO PRETTY MUCH EVERYONE KNOWS AND LOVES, AND MY OWN PERSONAL FAVORITE, CARRIE UNDERWOOD!! I WOULD MARRY CARRIE UNDERWOOD IF GIVEN THE CHANCE!! WELL, I HOPE WE SEE MORE AMERICAN IDOL CELEBRITIES MAKING MORE GREAT MUSIC, AND OTHER THAN THAT, I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE TO HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALL OF THESE ABOVE MENTIONED AMERICAN IDOL CELEBRITIES! THEY ALL HAVE WORKED SO VERY HARD TO FOLLOW THEIR DREAMS AND USE THEIR TALENTS, AND THEY ALL HAVE SUCCEEDED WITH FLYING COLORS!! :)
