    Album Notes
Journey: Gregg Rolie (vocals, keyboards); Neal Schon (guitar, background vocals); George Tickner (guitar); Ross Valory (piano, bass, background vocals); Aynsley Dunbar (drums).Recorded at CBS Studios, San Francisco, California. After splitting their backing musician gig with guitar legend Carlos Santana, guitarist Neal Schon and keyboardist/vocalist Gregg Rolie formed a new band--Journey. The band's 1975 self-titled debut is much more prog-rock/fusion-based than its later pop work, as the quartet jams out on long instrumental sections throughout. "Of a Lifetime" and "Topaz" are particularly noteworthy examples of Journey's early style.

    About Journey 1975

     | Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.
    Created: 04/05/11
Journey's self-titled debut album, Journey, was released in 1975 on the Columbia Records label. Unlike their later recordings, the debut release is a progressive rock album which focuses mainly on the band's instrumental talents.[1] It is the only album to include rhythm guitarist George Tickner among their personnel.

Journey features progressive rock tracks like "Of A Lifetime", "Kohoutek&amp;quot;, "Topaz&quot; and fan favorite, "Mystery Mountain".[2]

Journey recorded a demo album prior to the release of the self-titled "Journey&quot; album, with the same songs, in different order. There were additional tracks, including additional instrumental pieces, that did not make it to the final product. One of which was the original title track of the demo album "Charge of the Light Brigade".

    Journey... as they were...

    Created: 07/11/08
I got this album for my personal journey collection - also, it is someway to re-connect with the past. The growth of journey - their music's transformation and their passion to create good music is very evident. From Greg Rolie to Steve Perry to Steve Augeri and to Arnel Pineda... journey still ROCKS!

The album is in very good condition, surprisingly! I will surely treasure this album!

    Journey's first LP.

    Created: 09/02/07
I had a friend "turn me on" to this LP years ago and I was amazed by the musicianship in this band. I was already a Journey fan but hadn't heard this record until then. Being a drummer myself, I was astonished with Ansley Dunbars drum licks. I didn't realize this LP was on CD, and as soon as I found that it was, I turned to eBay and wasn't disappointed. You haven't really heard Journey until you've heard this LP.
