JVC Everio GZ-MG155 30 GB Camcorder - Black/Silver

Let me tell about JVC Everio GZ-MG155.

First of all, I was finding a simple camera for my older son (he is 14). One of important thing was HDD as primary storage. Next was a matrix size. I think, 1 MPix will be quite enough for my son. And finally, weight, 16x9 format, docking station.

I like functionality and record quality of this camera. Light weight. Bright colors.

Till this time I don't remark any significant cons of this camera.

So, it was good purchase for good price.

The dock makes this camcorder so easy to use. I just place it on the dock, tell it to connect to my mac, and all the videos are downloaded onto my mac for safe keeping. It has great zoom and mega pixel quality. The features are amazing and its size makes it easy to put anywhere, even in my pocket. I just had my second baby boy and this camcorder took care of all of our memorabilia needs. The only think that could have been a little better is the still images. They are a little on the low side of the quality spectrum. We got this for a camcorder though so no complaints.

This is my first 'small' camcorder.I have had it for about 7 hrs and have been putting it through its paces, ie recording then playing it via TV, PC and its passed with flying colours.I might add that those who may be concerned, like I was, with using this camcorder with OS Windows Vista it was absolutely no problem. Plugged in USB, it auto downloaded the cam drivers and I just clicked a screen menu to play..EASY!Forget the enclosed software. Can only do so much in one day but this little cam is everything I expected and more...Thanks JVC.

I searched for 3 weeks before I decided on this camera. The 30G harddrive was my main focus. I also looked at Sony but I didn't like its tiny touch screen much. The JVC has better controls. It is very easy to operate.

It can dub from an analog signal such as a VCR or DVD player. My old camera is a VHS-C so I can use this to convert my old tapes to DVDs using the "S-Video" cable port in the docking station. In other words, if it can be connected to a TV, it can be recorded (hint, hint).

It works great in low light situations and has a handy remote. No regrets here. This little Camcorder is perfect for family events!!

The GZ-MG155U is very small and handy. With the 30G HDD you don't need an SD card unless you want to use the still camera option. It has 4 different video record modes and a few other adjustable effects.
Great for needing to catch a moment on the run!!
