    Product Information
Karaoke game for PlayStation 2. Developer Harmonix, the brains behind Amplitude and Frequency, has created a scoring system that measures the player's skill on the included headset microphone. Sing a song in a monotone voice without any rhythm and you will be booed by the crowd. Nail a pitch-perfect version and they'll go wild, with fireworks going off all over. Your on-screen character will get more into it as well, moving across the stage, getting into the song, and even glowing. Even the microphone gets into the act, leaving white vapor trails on the screen. The game features 36 songs and multiplayer action for up to eight.

This game is a lot of fun for younger karaoke fans, with only slight room for improvement. Characters are all a bit too young and cartoonish for adult only entertainment. Positive factors are that singers can choose different characters and stages, and can also choose how lyrics are displayed on screen which is nice. Only suggestions would be for more pop songs, and to have audience actions change when the scenes change. Meaning some songs have a pre-programmed outcome of audience appreciation - with some songs automatically more popular with crowds. You quickly figure out what outcomes and actions will be expected each time you choose a song or venue. It would be nice to have more typical crowd behavior - ie: whistling, random yelling from people, lighters, hand waving, etc. However, this game is a good addition to your karaoke collection overall for kids and young teens. Adults may prefer more realistic looking characters and stage antics.

    Super fun party game

    Created: 31/10/05
This game is great. It's not just a karaoke game, it also helps you to sing better. You sing into a microphone and the game tells you if you are flat or sharp. As the 1st Karaoke revolution, this was a branch into a whole new world. However, I would probably just get the latest version (they are coming out with Karaoke Revolution Party Volume 4 in November 2005) unless you like the songs below which are on this one:

    Karaoke Revolution Vol 1

    Created: 27/06/08
I love the whole concept of the game, karaoke at home in your PJs- what I good idea. The only drawback of the first game is that the choice of songs is so limited. There are some classics and some contemporary which should suit all. Overall KR Vol 1 is a good solid game, but the series definitely gets better in the proceeding volumes. Good solid fun for the whole family! The only drawback is that it's missing the head-to-head features the later games have. I highly recommend to all music lovers.

    Karaoke Revolution

I decided to buy this game because I was in the mood to sing some songs. I like the game because it teaches people how to try to stay in pitch with the songs . It also has some very interesting characters on it.
What I don't like about it is that you can say any word you want as long as you are in pitch. That's not the point of Karaoke. Also I have read for the X box you would be able to obtain more songs than what's on the game. That would be cool for the ps2 also.
Overall though, I am happy with this title.
