Keeping Up Appearances - Hats Off to Hyacinth
Created: 05/10/06
This is the last DVD of the Britcom, Keeping Up Appearances, which ran in the 90's. I absolutely love this show and never get tired of watching it. The writing is excellent and the actors bring the characters to life. Y
The wonderful chaos that ensues when Hyacinth (Patricia Routledge) tries to clumsily climb the social ladder she craves are classic. The absolute mayhem that she puts her husband, Richard, (Clive Swift) through is tanatamount of his deserving a medal and a knighthood for dealing with her. Hyacinth also tortures her neighbours, Elizabeth and Emmet ( Josephine Tewson and David Griffin). You laugh and at the same time even feel for them as Hyacinth bounces them like a clumsy toddler with his toys.
This DVD contains some outtakes and an hour long program, "the Memoirs of Hyacinth Bucket" Which is a highlight show narrated by Daisy (Judy Cornwell) and Onslow ( Geoffrey Hughes)
I obviously highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed.
