The future of coffee making.
Created: 04/05/10
I'm single and for years I have made coffee in a conventional " coffee maker". My latest machine which ground coffee was ok only problem was it has a flat bottom basket for the grounds and for the little amount of coffee I brew in the morning, the coffee hardly covered the entire bottom of the basket. Also, remember how when you first open a can of coffee and that wounder aroma you first notice but then drops rapidly the more times you open and close the can till there is hardly any aroma left. Oxygen is one of coffee's worst enemies along with time. BTW I also read that you should never purchase the bulk coffee in the bins in a grocery store reason being the exposure to light and one never knows how long that coffee has been in the bins and that coffee is usually stale So I decided I needed a change and read all the reviews here on amazon and was very impressed by what you reviewers had written. I decided on either the B40 or B60 model so I went on an online auction site and was the top bidder on the B40 it was New In Box NIB never opened and had the complementary 18 sample box. I paid just less than $60.00. My brewer has the two cup size option.
At first I thought these single brewing systems were more of a fad than a practicability but reassessing my situation it made perfective sense so I decided to make the plunge and buy one. when my unit arrived it had a simple quick instruction manual. I followed the instruction until step # 8 in the SET UP section said "Press the flashing blue small mug Button. Well both of my small and large mug buttons never flashed, just stayed on. after about 5 min. I lifted the handle and close it and that seemed to rectify the situation and then the small mug button flashed. So if this same anomaly occur during your set up just lift the handle and close and it should reset itself.
There have been some negative reviews about how the B40 vibrates so much it makes other objects dance around that are close to it during brewing. Though I do not mean to discount other reviewers experiences, mine unit hardly makes a sound; perhaps it is slightly louder the the compressor on my refrigerator but hardly annoying. My Nespresso C100 makes more noise than the Keurig. Perhaps the others had an older design of the B40 or they may have had a defective unit.
The features I like on the B40 are of course the two mug size's, Heating light, De-scale light and most of all the ADD Water light. Which I wish my Nespresso had. Also the Water Reservoir is on the left side ( facing you). The only issue I can think of is you may have to move your unit forward to the edge of the counter if you have cabinets up above.
Other than that, so not to be redundant, I don't think I have much to add to what earlier reviewers have already written just I'm really please with my B40 and highly recommend it and I'm anxious to try the many flavor's and roasts that are available in the K-cups

Keurig What Else, B40 Just Awesome
Created: 03/03/08
I am a Keurig demo person who gets a lot of brewers right from Keurig. My husband was a whole pot coffee man until I got sick of cleaning up his messy grounds and put his old coffee maker away and replaced it with the Keurig B40.
What you get is a great brewer without the bells and whistles of the larger more expensive Keurig brewers. Yes the larger ones have different cup sizes, more chrome, and also different brewing temperatures. But, you can live without all of that for a lot less money. Bid on a B40 and save mega dollars. No flavored coffee or tea but real fresh coffee, tea or chocolate in kcups.
The Keurig brewers are a one coffee cup at a time brewer. Slow you think, guess NOT, it brews in seconds and the second cup within 30 seconds on that. Only once in a while will you wait while it is heating the coil which is in the top of the brewer. The water that you fill stays cold, you need not heat all of it at once. I have wowed a lot of people with how fast I can serve multiple cups of coffee, tea or hot chocolate. With the new kcups comes Starbucks kcups coffee even.
All of the parts come off of the brewer should you want to clean the little spout that the coffee comes through after it comes out of the k-cup. I put my nozzle in a glass jar and add a Polident or Efferdent tablet and it whizzes it clean. The drip tray I just put in my dishwasher but you can just wipe it clean with a damp cloth.
Should you buy a my-k-cup and want to use it...Put your index finger under the spout of the brewer and push up gently. The whole thing will pop out so that you can put the my-k-cup in. Watch how it comes out as it has two notches on one side and one on the other side. You will need to put it back in the way it comes out. It is really easy.
Watch for auctions that have expired or almost expired kcups and you will save on coffee. K-cups are sealed completely so you need not worry about expiration dates. They are sealed so they do not go stale.
Be sure to pick up a my-k-cup and you can save on buying k-cups by filling the coffee basket by yourself. I have even seen someone selling tops for the k-cups so that you can use the little filters again.

The Keurig Elite B40 is simply the best!
Created: 03/02/08
I have been using the Keurig Elite B40 coffee maker since it's arrival on the scene about 2 years ago. It requires minimal care and makes the best cup of coffee anywhere. I recently purchased a second one as a backup in case the one I've been using breaks down. I was afraid it may be discontinued as Keurig has newer models with "bells & whistles". The B40 is easy to use. Just pop in a "K Cup", press the handle down, push the blinking button and VOILA! a great sup of coffe. The "K cups" come in all types: Regular roast in mild, medium, bold and organic; decaf in the same choices; flavored coffees; hot chocolate; and a few choice teas. This comes in handy when you have company. Everyone can have the type of hot beverage they like with no effort on your part except to keep a pitcher of cold water nearby to refill the reservoir. The best part is that you can order the coffee online or buy it in the supermarket, Kohl's, Target & Bed Bath & Beyond. I cannot say enough good things about the Keurig Elite B40.

Keurig Coffee Maker
Created: 19/03/11
I recently bought a Keurig 1 Cup Coffee Maker and I have to say this is one of the best kitchen items I have ever purchased. I enjoy trying a variety of coffee flavors, while my husband likes his usual breakfast blend. Also, I like to enjoy a cup of coffee in the evenings while relaxing, but it doesn't make sense to me to make a pot for just a single cup. With my new Keurig, I can have any flavor, anytime I want it and my husband can have his breakfast blend in the morning.
I can also enjoy a cup of iced coffee, hot tea, iced tea, apple cider, hot chocolate, anytime! My Keurig came with a personal K-Cup too, so if I want to buy coffee from the grocer and use the personal K-Cup to brew it in, I can do that too.
Coffee brews in under a minute, is steaming hot and no clean up! Just throw the K-Cup in the trash can.
This coffee maker has a 48 ounce water reservoir so you can brew several cups of coffee before needing to add more water. And you have a choice of brewing an 8 oz. or 10 oz. cup.
No more making pots of coffee and pouring half of it down the drain. No more filters or forgetting to make coffee before bedtime.
I absolutely love my Keurig!

Convenient coffee maker
Created: 17/05/10
I decided to buy a Keurig coffee maker after a business trip where my room had a Keurig coffee maker with a variety of flavor cups. I didn't drink much coffee prior to this as I hated to use a conventional drip coffee maker with the mess and clean up. Consequently, I had been spending WAY too much money at Starbucks. The Keurig setup and clean up was so easy, I decided it was time to get one for myself.
Things I love about the Keurig B40:
1) Detachable water reservoir...fill the reservoir at the sink. No more filling the reservoir on the maker with the inevitable spills and overflows.
2) Simple operation. drop in the flavor cup, close the machine, hit the brew button.
3) Easy, mess-less cleanup. Simply open the machine, remove and throw away the flavor cup, no messy filters.
4) Always fresh taste as the flavor cups are sealed until you place them into the machine and close it.
5) Variety of coffee flavors. Incredible flavors available, I hit Starbucks only about once a month now that I have the Keurig coffee maker at home.
Things I do NOT like about the Keurig B40.
1) Cost of the flavor cups. NOTE: The cost, however, doesn't come close to outweighing the things I like about the machine.
General comments:
1) This machine is not for the person that likes to drink a pot of coffee a day.
2) If you like simple, neat operation for only a couple or so cups a day, this is the machine for you.
3) Wal-Mart and other readily accessible retail outlets sell boxes of the flavor cups, you don't have to buy on-line.
4) For my use, this is an excellent value for the money and I am sorry I didn't buy one a long time ago.
