Killer Instinct Gold (Nintendo 64, 1996)

This game is undoubtedly EXCELLENT!! The large variety of moves and 30 hit combos are, in my opinion, fairly easy to pull off unlike other games such as Soul Caliber Series, Tekken ect. The ability to increase or decrease the speed of the game is an absolute plus, considering it is awesome to have on Ultra-hard and the fastest game speed once you are a master. Another great feature is the 2 life bar set up. When you master the game, unlockable options will appear allowing you to do fatality moves during the FULL 2nd life bar!!! It is pretty amazing when T.J. Combo pulls out an AK- 47 and starts blasting on you, but you can block or counter it with another fatality such as Fulgore's Mech fatality!!!! This is an absolute must have, you WILL NOT be disapointed.

I gave this game an "excellent" rating for the fact that I am a huge fan of fighting games. KI-Gold allows for the player to use a large variety of combo moves and some pretty good finishers as well. The graphics are o.k. for the n-64 time frame. I do think that there could have been some improvement on the button combinations for the ultra-combos, and some enhancement on the finishers. If you like fighting games, KI-Gold is definately worth checking out.

This is a classic video game for any Nintendo 64 Enthusiast. I remember playing it in 1997 for hours at a time. Almost 10 years later and it is just a fun to play now. It has excellent characters and a variety of attack moves. Of course the ultimate fun in this game is the ability to do multi-hit combos. Each character also has a finishing move which can be done in sequence with a 3,5,7,10 or even higher combo attack. If you like fighting games, you cannot miss with KI Gold.

I bought this game for my brother because he had been looking for it but couldn't find it. So I found it and purchased it. What I like about the game is that it is a classic fighting game that incorporates different fighting styles and combo systems. There is no other system that has released another version of the game so I am glad that I was able to get a copy of this one. What I dislike is the fact that no one has developed a new inventive way of revamping the game for the current gaming systems that are out now, other than that I have no problems.

One of the fabled masterpieces of its generation, Gold is a contender for one of the best arcade-style fighting games to date. Although graphics rendering were bound by the limits of its time, an endless array of attack combos and 'Killer' finishing moves will keep you and your friends scrapping for days! Needed for any complete 64 collection. Period.
