    Industry Reviews
"Cable-news talking head O'Reilly . . . and historian Dugard . . . serve up a sensational, true-crime account of one of the most shocking murders in American history. . . . An entertaining tale that neither adds to the vast bulk of Lincoln scholarship nor challenges the established theories of Booth's plot and the subsequent trial of the conspirators."

What an excellent book. Well done Bill and Martin. I bought the audio and having Bill actually read it was great. I think every author should read the audio version. I couldn't stop listening. I wanted to listen chapter after chapter, but had to stop to do other things. Listened to it in three days and it was well layed out, pre-assassination and closing of the war, events leading to the assassination and the assassination, post-assassination, search and capture of Boothe. The day by day, hour by hour telling of events was superb. I wish the book was longer I liked it so much. Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard you really outdid yourselves.

This audio book had me where I "couldn't put it down". Well, I couldn't stop listening. I am, and have been, a Civil War buff for 50 years and learned at least 30 things I never knew before; which stimulates my desire to renew my own reasearch. Great listening experience.

I found this book to be very good, interesting and keep my attention from the start to the end. I am the grandson of Emanuel Hertz who was a well known historian on Lincoln, he wrote many books and I feel this one would have made him very impressed with the author.
Thank you for this book I give it 5 *****'s
