The King and I (DVD, 1999)

I can't compare this animated film with the original 1956 film starring Deborah Kerr and Yul Brynner for I have never seen it.I do, however, know that The King and I has been a love to many people for many years. Now Warner Brothers have put this cherished film in animation for many more to love...children and adults of all ages! I bought this film for my 6 year old who had never actually viewed the film but had only seen previews. I felt as though she would enjoy the film as some of her all time favorites are the old classics such as The Parent Trap, The Sound of Music, Old Yeller and many more. If you or your little one is into musicals, old time favorites, or just looking for one good wholesome film, this is the movie for you!

I really really did not like this movie. But the seller was excellent it was sent out immediately. I love the original King and I well except the part where he died but i thought my 4year old may enjoy this version better but there was a lot of chaos and she lost interest. The musical was totally lost here with all the characters unlike the original where from day one you're humming to getting to know you etc. I doubt we will ever watch it.

Entertaining family film, no negative scenes. Great animation. Classical film in animated version. My grandchildren all loved it.

A very wonderful animated version of the King and I! My grandchildren love to watch it over and over! I love to watch it with them. Recommended for all ages AAAA++++

This is a modified version of the great musical. They had to make it more scary and I have no idea why. So, it was too scary for my three year old. And not enjoyable for anyone else. What a waste...
