Kirby's Epic Yarn is the tenth installment of the Kirby video game series, and a return to a more traditional platformer game. This game is absolutely adorable. It is Kirby's first venture on to the Wii.
Epic Yarn is set in Patch Land, as opposed to Kirby's usual Dream Land location. Patch Land features a "unique knitted design based on animated yarn and a world of cloth and textiles." The game also feature 1 and 2 player modes and simple, easy to learn controls. Some of Kirby's traditional powers, like flight, are not here, since he's made of yarn. But they are new abilities to replace the old ones, such as Kirby can transform into a car for extra speed, or capture enemies and throw them like balls of yarn.
It is a beautiful, simple game. This is the game for the younger gamer who are playing a Kirby title for the first time. It's also a great title for the Kirby die-hard. I first played a Kirby series title on my old grey brick Game Boy, and this game totally brought me back to the early 90's. I love the look and feel of the game. It's simple and fun, and a reminder to the seasoned gamer that not every game has to be Skyrim or MW3.

Wonderful, kid-oriented, but NOT easy for kids

I purchased this game for the Wii so that I can play a child-friendly game with my young son. The characters and game play world are extremely creative, interesting and fun. All content seems very much attuned for a young child. This is all great, but the game play itself seems a little difficult for its target audience.
My son is almost six years-old and is quite good at these types of games (and, YES, I do limit his video game time, before I receive any criticism), but he and I both found the game levels a little bit tough. The game itself is absolutely wonderful, so this is my only small complaint.
Other than this one issue, I fully recommend this game to any parent who wishes to purchase a game for their child (and possibly even play along with them) whose content is very tame and friendly for little ones.

The game looks stunning, the music is thoughtfully arranged with taste, moving your character(s) (2 players mode is fun) around is a joy in itself, for the the gameplay has been studied by geniuses (had already made the masterpiece "the shake dimension").
The challenge is really easy if you decide to rush directly to the end. The game is made this way, it can be played by everybody, without encountering displeasure. If you want to get every hidden features and complete all mini-games, it will require a bit more precision and skill, and you will have something worth your money in any case.
Not as hardcore (far from it) as what the hardest quests of "the shake dimension" + the scoring system can be a little frustrating (sometimes random factors compensate a challenge that you missed and that could have been interesting).
Still an incredible game made by passionate and skillful people. You have to accept the concept of the game (very easy if not careful to what can enrich the game experience) though... I do!

I got this cause I liked the kirby games. Though it is not like the old kirby games it still was fun. Being a yarn kirby that changes shape not into things like did with old versions of kirby. I liked it mostly cause it was a good two player game. Always looking for more games like mario wii one for multiplayer and this one is a good one. The only con thing about it was the story. It's a under teen type of story. But the game play is fun, search to collect things and fight type of game play.
I got it off ebay but found it was still in stores. I rather have gotten threw the store than off ebay since I still payed the same price as the store's price. But the one I got worked so it's fine.
