Jordan's last, completely his own
Created: 01/05/09
This may be Robert Jordan's last book (written solely by himself) and maybe his best of the Wheel of Time series.
His intricate details of life in this sci-fi fantasy, envelope you into another space and time.
Although Book 12, A Memory of Light, will be coming in an epic series, the first being slated for November 2009, his writing will span decades and encourage new writers to push themselves in their art.
I was first introduced to The Wheel of Time 20 plus years ago. And, to this day, enjoy his writing as I did the first time. I must admit, however, it takes a little reading to get back into the swing of life in Edmond's Field and it's encompassing surroundings. Usually two or three chapters in, I'm hooked. But, I think Jordan has an inkling of an idea his world is complex and the beginning of his books re-acclimates the reader into his ever involving story of the Dragon Reborn.
I couldn't put it down! I found this chapter in Rand's life clarifying some confusion of who was working with who (and why). Some threads were placed back neatly into the fabric of the other lives involved. Reunited, married and solidly placed on throne's, Ta'veren have reached places they have and haven't dreamed of before. Matt engaged? Perrin finds Faile? The Aes Sedai black ajah found? What about Elayne and Elaida? Nynaeve and Lan still together? All thankfully answered.
And I desperatly anticipate his next LAST book. Will November ever come?! (Darn! And the summer hasn't even started yet, and I'm wishing it away).
I loved this book and await the wheel of time to move closer to the next.
*Robert Jordan passed away in September of 2007. May his legacy live on.

Best of the series
Created: 08/09/09
I'm not an expert by any means but 2 years ago, I started reading the Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series and got hooked. While books 8-10 were inching closer to the end of the story, this book was by far the best I've read in the entire series. That's probably due to the best battles since the Shadowspawn descended on Two Rivers. Looking forward to the continuation of the story by different authors.
Though you can probably start with any book in the series to get a taste, start with book one and search e-bay for some of the best prices on all 11 titles. I've had no problems with the quality of any of the purchases. A great story and I just have to wonder...how it will end???
