    Knitted Lace of Estonia

    Created: 12/01/11
This is a beautiful book, with many photos clearly illustrated the shawls and scarves. Nancy Bush clearly steeped herself in her subject. There is a very useful section in the back showing traditional lace motifs of Estonia and charts, which the knitter could put together in various ways to create her own designs. There are also 14 projects for the knitter to do.

I must admit I have not knitted one of these projects yet, but looking them over, the directions seem clear and I feel I could tackle them. Directions are given charted form only, with additional information on how the shawl is put together and appropriate finishing. Clearly, any one of these projects would be a challenge requiring patience and care, but they are so beautiful it would be well worth the knitter's time.
