I'm not a photography pro. I'm not even a serious amateur. I bought the camera for family gatherings, parties, vacations, etc. This is my 4th digital camera but only my second superzoom. I do have some 35mm film experience from before the digicam boom.

First impressions: This is a BIG camera! Hefty too. It has a good feel to it though. It seems solid and substantial, like a little brick. The rubber coating provides a secure grip. It is very comfortable in my medium-sized man hands.

The good: Beautiful, detailed pictures with vibrant, saturated color. Fast auto focus--even in poor light, fast boot-up, and no appreciable shutter lag. The video camera is better than expected--great audio and excellent video even in marginal light. The 30X zoom is astonishing. Thanks to highly effective anti-shake, I find I can often use full zoom with no tripod! The price is half that of comparable offerings from other brands. The free, on-line instruction book from Kodak is both detailed and informative.

The bad: The image review after each snapshot takes too long and I can find no way to shorten or disable it, so rapid followup shots are not possible. The menu structure is peculiar and the placement of the many control buttons was confusing at first. I've gotten used to it, but it took practice. The instruction booklet that came in the box is thin--almost useless.

My favorite feature: The "Kodacolor" filter is my hands-down favorite gadget. I leave it enabled almost all the time now. It really does add that rich, saturated Kodak color that I remember from my 35mm days. There's no denying the nostalgic appeal, and the pictures look...well...alive!

The bottom line: This is a great-performing camera at a bargain price! The still images and video are simply stunning. It is useful under many, many different lighting situations thanks to its expansive feature set. You can't get a better camera anywhere for this price.

This camera has features others costing over twice as much do not. RAW photo editing is a professional grade camera option. The HD photo feature, allows you to take a picture of something with a lighter background and not have the image in the foreground shadowed. It actually takes 3 shots, compares and combines them into one amazingly clear shot. Way to many features to list them all. Photo quality is fantastic. The Easy Share software is still available from Kodak. Connect Camera push one button and it downloads all new photos. It can even send photos to Facebook or email. Just tag the photo on camera, when you connect, it sends them.
Shoots 1080p HD video, stereo microphone, easy connect to HD TV.

I love this camera, for a point and shoot its the best thing i could get to a average DSLR well without being able to change the lens. I bought this camera because i didn't like the price of DSLR and saw many people taking amazing pictures with Point and Shoots so i found a Point and shoot that doesn't disappoint.

Pros:
IT HAS A BIGGER SENSOR THAN ALMOST ALL Point and Shoots = better quality pictures!
Quality of picture during the day
Detail in zooming in with full 30x in
Nice Kodak film chooser feature
Night shots come out amazing (if you got a tri pod or steady hands)
Video in 1080p looks and has a good built in microphone that has great sensitivity for a camera
Manual features such as (Manuel, AP, Shutter speed priority, and F-stop) made me feel like i was using a real DSLR kind of
Burst shots amazed me, you can take shots up to 60 at a time with this feature which can come in handy if your taking pictures of a fast pace game

Cons:
Slowish - If you are taking a picture using the smart capture, you have to wait for the pictures to process you can't snap and then snap again.
When switching the dial to different features sometimes it was slow switching to them.

Sure other cameras now offer the more megapixels but this is different because the fact it uses a bigger sensor which means even better quality of pictures, the sensor is the quality vs megapixels which equals the detail, you may see more with more megapixels but the bigger the sensor the better the quality of the detail your looking at

What a bargain! Huge optical zoom lens, high MP, RAW shooting, many features, HDR pics, panorama. Has a large crisp 3" rear LCD, good low light pics, 1080 video with stereo sound and focus/zoom while shooting video and image stabilization. Its all here at a great price. Auto focus on your subject can be a bit tricky when its depth is different from the background and there are many focus points, but that is the only drawback that I have found, just recompose pic with subject in center and then move shot to include background. Nothing a digital photographer has not already employed. Build quality is light, no metal frame or chassis. Much lighter than a "big 3" super zoom bridge camera, but may be more fragile. Strange lens cap diameter, filter selection may need an adapter. Compared to a Olympus C8080: Lighter, faster, better low light performance, longer flash range, longer zoom, bigger screen. Superior in every facet with possible exception of lens brightness.

I bought this camera online without looking at it in person first, so I was expecting a DSLR kind of camera because the ridges on the lense part of the camera made this camera seem like a DSLR. You must know that this is NOT a DSLR Camera. It is a good camera and I like it, but I wish that it would take pictures faster and not take such a long time to focus. Its features are normal and the megapixel's/HD Video can be found in camera's for $100 or less. If you want a DSLR just go for a full on, real DSLR. But if you want a high megapixel and HD Video, this camera is a bit more effecient than cheaper camera's.
