Easy To Use, Good Pictures!

Created: 06/03/08
I love how easy this camera is to use, I bought my Z812IS in January and haven't put it down yet! The zoom on this camera is amazing, even with using full digital zoom, you can get some decent pictures. The camera is fairly small, not quite pocket sized, but darn close. Another thing I love about it is the ability to use the camera with one hand. All of the important features are right there on the right side, easily accessible with either your thumb or forefinger. Speaking of features, this thing is packed with them! There are a few that I am still figuring out how to use. Of course, I am no professional, so someone who is would probably be less impressed, but the features are still awesome. One feature that I enjoy using is the Panorama function. It's easier to use than most would think and it makes some nice shots. I mainly bought this camera to use while I am flying. I wanted something with a little higher zoom to be able to take some better pictures of things from the air. I used a Kodak C330 before I bought the Z812IS and it produced decent pictures and was easy to use, so I figured I would stick with the Easyshare line of cameras and I was not dissapointed!

Kodak Z812 dig. camera

Created: 10/02/08
I find this camera to be an excellent choice. My last 2 cameras have been the Easy share type of Kodak, and have always taken wonderful pictures.
They are also very durable Ihave found out. Take bumps and drops , and still work fine.
The picture this camera takes are very clear, even with using the zoom, the subject still looks clear as if it was taken from a short distance.

The video quality is fantastic, and with the automatic image stabilizer, the video's and the pictures as well, come out very crisp and clear. I shook the camera slightly while taking both video and still shots, the video did not come out looking shaky, and the picture did not blur.
Although I haven't completely tried all the features yet , I find this camera excellent , and I have never been very dissapointed with any of my Kodak cameras !!

kodak z812 is 8.2 megapixal

this camera is i think kodaks top of the line.It rates a 9 with me for picture quality and most of all ease of use even with all of the great features it has.also works very well with kodaks easy share system.you dont even have to read the manual for most things.it is also very versitile in how you can share print or transport pictures or videos and also charge with many different printer charger docks. my only complaint is that most places you can get it from dont give you the chargeable battery, but on the other hand you can also use 3 different batts including regular double A witch is very convenient to always have backups. One more thing is that the camera itself seems lightweight and not as rugged as you might think from pictures. As long as it holds up on that end i dont see any problems with the lightweight construction.

The start of a fabulous hobby..........................

Created: 10/03/08
Back in Feb of 08' I purchased the Kodak Z812 digital camera coupled to Kodak's
G600 printer dock.I have been pleased beyond my wildest expectations. They are both set up to be up and running in a very short time. I was taking great photos immediately and the printer is a pure joy to use.
The camera was bought after an intensive period of shopping and comparing and was needed because of it's high telephoto capabilities, namely 12X. The features are easy to use and there is even a help menu built right into the camera. The
clarity and brightness of the LED screen is fantastic but there is also a lighted viewfinder that supplements this quite well. The small compact size was also another factor that figured into my choice.Fits in the palm of the hand.
After having owed several other digital cameras of varies makes this has easily become my favorite and will be used extensively to persue my hobby of nature photography. From super detailed macro photos to the ultra sharp high zooms made better by the always active image stabilization one could not ask for anything more.
As for the G600 printer dock I am in love with it.From it's very small compact size,to the ease of use,to the quality prints it delivers this is a definate keeper. After some shopping on line a bit for the cartridge and paper I can print all the photos I choose for a mere 15 1/2 cents apiece and it will do it all day without even monitoring.A great feature is that it also recharges the camera's batteries so they are always ready to go.A big help for sure.
The only complaint I have with the entire set-up is maybe their software. I find it to be slow and clumsy probably due to the fact that it fights the several other photo programs I have installed on my computer already. I am finding ways of working around this and I beleive if it is the only one installed you would be very happy with it.
Now for the best part.............The Kodak website and support tech. team are
unbelievable.I have e-mailed them with several questions and they have responded
quickly and intelligently and have answered all of my questions. You can also download the expanded owner's manuals for both units there for free. They are truly a class act.
In conclusion I would give this camera and printer my highest reccomendation and would purchase another in a heartbeat. Happy picture taking!!!!

My bad

Created: 05/04/08
My first digital was a Kodak 7560 with a 10x optical zoom. What a camera! Easy to operate, took great pictures and enabled me to get great close ups of wildlife. Wife dropped it and broke it beyond repair. We wanted to stay with Kodak technology because of familiarity and satisfaction. We also had a printer dock that also served as a battery charger. The 7560 had its own recargeable battery. We bought the Z812 IS on line. That was our first mistake. Next time I will hold the camera and road test it. The 12x zoom lever is in a terrible spot on the camera. Being a former SLR user, I prefer to look through the view finder rather than the LCD. I have yet to find an LCD that is bright enough to use during daylight and this one is no exception. The zoom lever causes you to have your right thumb on the bridge of your nose while trying to view and zoom. The worse feature of this camera is battery life. The Kodak rechargeables are terrible! After 10-20 pictures, they must be recharged! Regular AA batteries are better, but you are constantly worrying how much life is left. With our former camera, we NEVER had a battery concern. The rechargeable that came with the camera stayed in the camera for 4 years and gave us fathful service. The rechargeables in the Z812 IS cannot be recharged while the camera sits on the printer dock. In conclusion I am sorry I bought this camera, and sorry I bought it sight unseen.
