Kyocera KX9C (Unlocked) Cellular Phone

I have had no issues with this phone. I've replaced my phone once and my wife has replaced her's once with the same phones purchased from ebay. My display went out when I dropped mine and she broke her hinge when it fell face down with it open. Both of us have dropped them before this was the first time they took the correct hit to break. No damage what so ever from opening the phone easy and closing it easy. I've seen so may people slam their phones shut and thrust them open hard. I'm sure that isn't doing the hinge on this phone any good, its not the best I've seen but I have never had one crack. I had mine a few months over a year and my wife had hers a couple months over a year before replacing them. The way I see it the bad reviews will keep the price down for me to buy more!

May 13 2008 my wife had her phone flip open when she sat in the car. It was on her side and the lid caught on the door jam. It made a nice crack on the hinge and wouldn't close back up. But thanks to ebay I had a replacement ready to go. I called US Cellular and had one of the phones I purchased turned on. Mine, still ticking no hinge problems.

This is an excellent Phone. Great Service. Awesome starter phone. Loud Ringer. Loud Speakerphone. All Around good phone

I have always had Kyocera phones and use my cell phone a lot. I have had two of these phones and they break at the hinge. I continue to purchase Kyocera products but the KX9C is not for serious cell phone users. I purchased a second KX9C thinking I was hard on the first phone (and I really prefer Kyocera products)and it broke with normal use after about 6 weeks. I didnt drop this phone and was not hard on it what so ever. Buyer beware of this design flaw

I had initially endorsed this phone as simple but adequate. I have now had three, and they are JUNK!! Do NOT buy this phone!!

I thought it was due to my habit of dropping the phones that caused them to break. Where the phone flips open/closed, the plastic will first develop cracks and then completely pull apart as you simply USE it. After the first phone, I vowed to take good care of phone #2, but it also cracked. I thought it was because I had replaced the cover on #2 with a decorative cover, so I naively got phone #3.

With #3, I put a Body Glove on it and haven't dropped it all all. Same crack, same place, and now I cannot even open my phone. I have it taped together until I can get a replacement.

For what it's worth, I have a friend who has had two, and hers failed exactly the same way and in the same place. Do NOT buy this phone!!

If anyone from Kyocera reads this, "You've got some splaining to do!"

worth what i paid for it, few thinkgs wrong with it but good enough for my kid. Uses it just to get in touch with us (supposedly!!)
