Movie synopsis
This Showtime drama follows an ensemble cast of characters who represent multiple facets of the lesbian lifestyle, but enact very human dramas that anyone can relate to. At the center is Jenny (Mia Kirshner, EXOTICA), who has recently moved to a hip L.A. neighborhood to be with her boyfriend, a swim coach named Tim (Eric Mabius). Immediately swept up in the lesbian community, Jenny begins to question the heterosexuality she has always taken for granted, while the lives and loves of those around her play themselves out in sometimes humorous, sometimes painful ways. This release includes every episode from the third season of the show.

The L Word is, no doubt, one of the best series out there. It's not about sterotypes, it's not about gay women; it's about women, with all their flaws and strengths. Every character is treated in-depth so you'll get identified with more than one character, even if you're not female, lesbian, etc. The two previous seasons have been smashingly good. If you enjoy well written series and have an open mind this is for you. There are sad moments, hot moments, interesting moments.
It's always pelasant to watch the performances of the beautiful and talented actresses that delight us on this series, Laurel Holloman, Jennifer Beals, Erin Daniels, Katherine Moennig, Mia Kirshner, Sarah Shahi, Leisha Hailey, and the rest of the cast.
The plots of this third season may be a little more depressing than the past couple of seasons, but I still have my hope high that Ilene Chaiken will bring us even better stories in the upcoming fourth season.

ITS ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS OUT THERE AND NOW I LOVE THE L WORD SEASON. ITS THE ONLY LESBIAN SHOW OUT THERE THAT COVERS EVERY TOPIC THAT THE LESBIAN WOMEN HAVE TO DEAL WITH AND HOW AT SOME POINT HAS FELT. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES TO ANYONE. ITS A GREAT SHOW TO WATCH !!!!

BEEN HOOKED SINCE SEASON 1, love that it is about lesbians, love and relationships, and issues envolving everyday life. i decided to buy it so that it could be apart of my collection for years to come after shows get cancelled, but for the l word that won't be happening soon

I love the frank, honest look at lesbian life today. The characters are obvioulsy committed to an honest portrayal of the lesbian lifestyle, even the ones who are not gay. I decided to buy all 3 seasons because I believe this show will be ageless and I will enjoy it for many years to come.

How can you write a review without spoiling the plot? It's kind of like Sex in the City for Lesbians. If you're reading the review for the third season (I'm assuming that you've watched seasons one and two) then you know what to expect as far as questions to be answered this season and that new drama will doubtlessly unfold.
