Absolute "classic" with great and memorable musical scenes:

... Quality movie that's appropriate for all ages and a must own for Disney enthusiasts because: a) it was the studio's first Cinemascope animated feature; b) it was their first full-length cartoon based on an original story rather than an established classic. In this film Lady is a pampered female dog whose being eased out when her masters bring a baby into the home. She then runs across the Tramp who is a male dog from the wrong side of town, which is where her adventure begins. Beyond the usual excellent animation and visual effects, the principal selling card of Lady and the Tramp is its music. The 50th Anniversary Edition not only reminds modern audiences of its deservedly immortal status, but provides a much-needed standard of comparison for more recent animated features. Overall, a charming piece of vintage entertainment from Walt Disney replete with wholesome family values.

Lady and The Tramp 50th anniversary edition
Created: 19/03/11
This is a classic disney love story about a high society dog and a stray from the wrong side of the tracks. The female dog is feeling worried about the arrival of the new baby in the family. There are a lot of fun songs like bella note and he's a tramp. The animation is a bit outdated by todays computer animated standards and it can seem a bit dry compared to the kid movies that are out there today. However, the story still resonates with little ones and my 4 year old son loves it! It is definitely a classic worth having!

It's still one of the sweetest kisses onscreen, up there with Bergman and Grant, Bogey and Bacall: the moment when pampered purebred Lady and streetwise mongrel Tramp, sharing a moonlit plate of spaghetti in an alley behind an Italian café, unknowingly slurp the same strand, and suddenly find their mouths meeting in surprise and tenderness. Ah, puppy love. Lady and the Tramp is a delight of animation and surprisingly deep character development, given that the stars are all dogs. Lady, an adorable Cocker Spaniel, feels neglected when her owners become distracted by the pending birth of a baby. But the last straw is clueless Aunt Sarah's appearance with her conniving Siamese cats (among Disney's most creatively evil villains), who wreak havoc on Lady's blissful home life. Soon Lady is off on an adventure in the streets, where the savvy Tramp takes her under his paw. The lessons of friendship and loyalty, of integrity--not to mention trusting in the kindness of strangers--ring true to delighted children and adults alike. And unlike many Disney films, there's no real violence, only challenges that smart dogs (including a tough-talking vamp named Peg, voiced sublimely by Peggy Lee, who also wrote the songs), banding together, can tackle. The animation is terrific; the scene where we first meet Tramp shows him rinsing off under a pipe, and his subsequent shaking-off of the water follows the detailed rippling up and down his back that any dog lover will recognize. And is there any song more romantic than "Bella Notte"? Bellissima!

A must own Disney classic with lots of bonus material
Created: 08/03/06
This is one of the everlasting Disney classic movies and one that will be forever timeless. If you and your family haven't added it to your collection, you should go out and immediately get it.
This Platinum Edition release has two discs and tons of extras. The movie has been digitally restored (pircture and sound) and it is much nicer to watch than the previous and much brighter. There is an added Bella Notte music video, deleted scenes, original storyboard version of the film, making of the movie, art of the storyboard. Games and activities included are Disney Virtual Puppy (DVD ROM), Disney Dog Trivia (Virtual Board Game), PuppyPedia: Going to the Dogs (Breed learning), Inner Bark: Personality Profile.
The movie is viewable as Widescreen (2.55:1 aspect) or Full Screen (Pan and Scan), French and Spanish language tracks and 5.1 Disney Enhanced Home Theater Mix.
All in all this is definitely worth the money and all of the bonus material is entertaining and educational at no extra or inflated cost.
