VOTE FOR YOUR FAVOURITE ‘LADY AND THE TRAMP’ DOUBLE ACT

Created: 09/02/06
From Wednesday 8 February, visitors to www.mad4dogs.org.uk/lady will have the chance to vote for their favourite doggy double act in the ‘Lady and the Tramp’ look-a-like competition. The Kennel Club Charitable Trust and Disney have launched this contest; to celebrate this much loved classic film, which is being released for the first time ever on special edition Disney DVD on 13 February 2006.

Nearly 50 photographs of dogs, which have similar characteristics to the much loved characters Lady, Tramp, Jock and Trusty have been entered into the competition and can be viewed online at www.mad4dogs.org.uk/lady.

It is now up to the public to vote for their favourite dogs. The two dogs with the highest number of votes from each character category will go through to the Grand Final at Crufts 2006, at The NEC Birmingham on Sunday 12th March, where they will have a chance to win a year’s supply of Iams dog food.

Tanya O’Connor, Brand Manager at Disney, said: “We’ve had some great pictures that reflect the captivating characters from the much loved film Lady and the Tramp and would like to thank everyone who has entered the competition. We would now like to encourage people young and old to cast their vote for their favourite dogs. This is such a great opportunity for ten lucky winners and their dogs to be part of Crufts, the world’s greatest dog show. Don’t miss your chance to vote, visitors are able to vote once every twenty four hours for each character between 8 and 24 February 2006, visit www.mad4dogs.org.uk/lady.”

Mike Townsend, Chairman of The Kennel Club Charitable Trust, said: “Lady and the Tramp is a film that has captivated the hearts of many of us. The characters in the film portray the happiness and joy that our canine friends can bring. We would like to thank Disney for their support and are pleased that together we can raise awareness of how we can make a difference for dogs, so they can have a healthier and happier life.”

The Kennel Club Charitable Trust helps ‘make a difference for dogs’ by providing grants to organisations which promote the advancement of science and research into canine diseases, the quality of life of humans whose dogs act as therapeutic and physical aids, and the relief of dogs in need of care and attention. The Trust was formed in 1987 and has distributed funds totalling more than £2million since its inception, with almost £250,000 awarded in grants last year alone.

VERY ENTERTAINING AND HEART-WARMING.... GREAT FOR THE WHOLE FAM!!! EVEN IN THIS AGE OF PIXAR FILMS, THE CLASSIC DISNEY ANIMATION IS AWESOME. Why Disney Movie's are well worth the money.

Created: 04/03/06
The movie always keeps your interest in mind. Make's you feel like your part of the story. You wind up routing for the good guys and sometimes the bad guys, or character's in the movie. There never too long, or too short, just right. I suggest sitting down and watching a Disney movie, of your choice, today. Believe me, it's well worth the time.
