Paula Deen Cookbook
Created: 31/03/09
I frequently watch Paula Deen on the Food Network and enjoy preparing some of her recipes. This cookbook represents favorite recipes from her famous restaurant in Savannah Georgia; The Lady & Sons. I am a southerner and appreciate good "down home" recipes. If you are into health food, this may not be the cookbook for you. However, if you love to cook great food for friends or family, I would recommend this Cookbook as a must have!

I really enjoy Paula Deen's recipes. I had received another one of her cookbooks as a gift in the past and wanted to try more. This cookbook, The Lady & Sons, was not disappointing either. One of the reasons I bought it was because many of the recipes are served in her restaurant in Georgia. All the recipes are easy to read and have simple directions. The ingredients called for are already on hand in your kitchen or easy to buy. I also enjoyed reading the Notes, Introductions, and Helpful Hints. I can honestly say that I haven't made one item that I didn't like. My husband says, "get more of her cookbooks!"

One of Paula's First Cookbooks

I've always loved to watch Paula Deen, her sons, and her new husband on the food network. Her recipes look soooo delicious. The story of how she came to get into catering, cooking and publishing is amazing and inspirational. I had to look through the cookbook as soon as it arrived and everything looks scrumptious....can't wait to try some of them. Also, if I ever get to Savannah Georgia again, I have to visit the "Lady and Sons Restaurant". Guess you could say I'm a Paula Deen groupie!

I have all of Paula's cookbooks, but not just because I think the recipes are better than others I have....the real reason is the Lady herself! Each recipe screams Paula.....and you can visualize her pretty face and her very bubbly personality jump out at you with each butter or mayonnaise laden recipe or especially the Gooey Butter Cake with variations. Most recipes are, in fact, very good, but not intended for those on a diet! And in the earlier books you get to look at her gorgeous sons beside her.......who's complaining?
