I've seen a lot of bad reviews of this game and I really think that is unwarranted. Even though its a first person shooter, like Halo 2, Half-Life, Far Cry, etc; you shouldn't compare it to those games. This game's quality shouldn't be judged on action; it is a slower paced game, but the low background music, lack of other characters, and visual style of lifelessness are done on purpose to add atmosphere. Turn down the lights, turn up the volume and enjoy this game. It will scare you. The lack of speed and lack of ammo adds to the dread; you can't necessarily mindlessly blast through mobs of zombies like in some action games. Sometimes running is the best option.

This game could have been better, that's true. But for what it is, it's really the only type of game in this genre of this style. My only complaints with the game are this:

1) Very linear at times. I wish you could have more options as far as going to different places at different times (i.e. You need ammo so you choose to go to the gun store, etc.)
2) Falling from the ceiling? There are times especially in the sewer, when zombies fall from the ceiling. It can be annoying but does make you wonder when something will pop out and keep you on your toes.
3) Foretelling loading. Many times when there is a zombie added to the area around you, the game stutters for a millisecond, but it is enough to warn you of the upcoming enemy...which takes away some of the suspense.

But considering it's a budget title, and the few technical flaws, it creates a lot of atmosphere and in a lot of ways is better than the movies that it is based upon.

And most of all, it's fun.

The basis is almost like the movie- if you haven't seen it then watch it, the movie is way better than the game. Except you are some crazy white guy who lives on a farm and have to find your way out of your farm by finding weapons and shooting zombies, eventually you make your way to the city and while killing the whole time you find people to help and have to make it to Fiddlers Green by any means, lots of sewer walking. One level is a machine gun on the back of a jeep you have to kill all zombies who are trying to get in the city which is supposed to be the safe zone. Lots of different levels. It takes some time to feel comfortable walking and aiming, which is just like most games. The first few levels are decent and in some parts not hard... but time consuming, you'll be getting close to the end and then bam! you have to start over. I was disapointed when it was over it could have been way longer to beat. I payed about $30.00 american and I feel it should be about $10.00. If you get a good price I reccomend playing it if you like to shoot things. I wouldn't pay any more than $15.00 with shipping.

A Must have Zombie Game!!!

Created: 09/04/06
Land of the Dead Road to Fiddlers Green is a great first person shooter! This game is great not only because it has zombies in it but the creators of the game made the gameplay very realistic and sometimes scary to play. Also the musical score to the game definitely added anxiety to the gameplay! In the game you have a good variety of weapons to use against the zombies, plus you have melee weapons if you run out of ammo for your guns. Nothing is better than after a hard days work, coming home playing this game and slamming an axe into a zombies rotting head. Tell you the truth there isn't anything I disliked about the game. I bought this game because I'm a huge Zombie and George Romero fan to say the least. If you are like me and love first person shooters, and zombies to kill I defenitely suggest it!

Land of the Dead. After playing it for a while, there are some game glitches but I think its worth playing and for George Romero fans, this is prereq to include in your fanhood. At first, when I started playing it, I thought I wouldn't care for it. But, after playing it for a while; the zombies kind of grow on you. If your fan of the horror game genre, I think this game is worth adding to your zombie monster game collection.

very scarey

Created: 06/03/09
wow where to begin with this game,,,well to start with this game will have you jumping out of your seat every couple of seconds , everywhere you turn there are zombies trying to attack you, and you mission is to get off of your farm alive without being eattin alive, trying to make it into the city where you will find some living breathing people left is no easy task , you will run into this zombies in your home on the farm, in the cornfields , along the streets train stations you name it they are there, the only flaw i find with this game is that it is short about 6 hours or so , but the good side to that is that you can play in harder modes when you are finished, the music or sound effects alone will scare you its like your watching a scarey movie with this game , it is worth every cent i paid and i will never get rid of it AAAAAAA++++++on this game.
