) I really enjoyed watchning this movie w/ my husband & kids. I must say that my son has always been a fan of the Nick version of Avatar:The Last Air Bender, and when it became a movie...he was thrilled. It's a beautifully done movie with the same storyline & plot as the cartoon version. I am very pleased with my purchase, and a great bargain as well.

My wife and I recently sat down and watched all three seasons of Avatar the Last Airbender. Surprisingly my wife enjoyed them. There was just enough humor as well as seriousness to make it enjoyable for adults and not just another kids tv series. I couldn't wait to watch this movie. This movie basically covers the entire first season. I could only see a few minor differences between the series and the movie. I'm hoping they make a second movie that covers season 2.

Watch the anime, not this.

This movie took all the fun, love, and thought from the Nickelodeon show...and threw it in the trash. The movie was a disaster from the very beginning. I am a die-hard Avatar: TLA fan, and was extremely excited about this movie. And I don't think I've ever been so disappointed with a movie in my entire life. Neither the Avatar: The Last Airbender fan or Movie fan in me liked this movie even a little bit.
The acting was horrible and unbelievable, the plot line was chopped to bits, and M. Night changed so many things for the worse!
I will say, that my little sister (11) and brother (6) REALLY enjoyed this movie a lot, and I would consider this a good movie for the kids. But this review is what I personally thought of the movie, and it was just crap.
So...If you haven't seen the Nickelodeon show, go watch it please. It WILL wash out the dirty taste in your mouth that this movie probably left.

Disappointing - the cartoon is better

When I received the DVD I expected that it would be a reasonable facsimile of the popular cartoon. The actors were not good at all - it looks like they picked actors that couldn't act. Their was little martial arts action and most of it was just movie magic CG rather than true martial skill. I fell asleep about half way through. This is best for kids.
