Hollywood Reporter - Michael Rechtshaffen (08/20/2010)

"The buildup to the devilish acts is potent..."
USA Today - Claudia Puig (08/26/2010)

Entertainment Weekly - Owen Gleiberman (09/03/2010)

I Love Exorcist Movies

Created: 10/02/11
I love Exorcist/horror religious movies. Ever since I watched the original Exorcist and the Omen when I was little, I've been a tad obsessed.

Not gonna lie... when I saw Eli Roth's name attached to this... I groaned with discomfort. I can't stand Roth. His movies leave me bored. Maybe gore hasn't been my thing since I was like 10, whatever.

I saw TLE in theaters with friends and I was the only one who actually liked it.
Apparently it wasn't as bloody or Exorcist-ish as others wanted it to be but I loved it aaaaaaall. There isn't a definite answer as to if it was all "real" - this film isn't entirely about DEMONS AND SATAN... more about peoples beliefs. More about how eager some are to believe and how some are quick to disbelieve.

One of these film crew movies which follows an Exorcist who doesnt even beleive in God, In fact when he does his Exorcisms they are pretty much a show he puts on with sounds, moving furniture and even a smoke show! Him and the fil crew head out on a road trip to do an exorcism on a young girl. Come to find out that after the smoke and light show that there is something seriously wrong with this girl. I won't give anything more away but the movie has plenty of twists and a crazy ending. I recommend it to the people who like horror movies and don't mind outside the box stuff.

This is probably the best scary movie I've seen in quite some time, filmed in the same manner as "the Blair Witch", it has the same amount of shock and awe as "Cloverfield".

Was disappointing!

I did not really like the movie. It reminded me a little of paranormal activity, in the way it was filmed. It made me wonder if the producer used real information from actual events in this movie?

Scary No, Disappointing Yes.

Created: 10/02/11
I had heard people say that this movie was so scary, that I couldn't wait to see it. So I was really quite disppointed to find out that the first 2/3 of the movie were NOT scary at all! It was interesting, though, this preacher doing his 'mockumentary' and revealing the secrets of 'fake' exorcisms....but I found myself saying over and over 'When is this going to get scary?'. The only part that had a hint of 'scary' to it was the barn scene where she was contorting her body and twisting her head, like Linda Blair on the original Exorcist movie....but that part lasted only maybe 5-10 minutes before the preacher decided, once again, that she was 'faking it.' I was looking forward to a full-blown exorcism scene, like in the original Exorcist movies, but never got it. Instead there was this ridiculous, over-the-top ending that didn't seem to really bring closure to the movie. So I was left feeling VERY disappointed and NOT at all scared!
