Industry Reviews
"Riordan masterfully orchestrates the huge cast of characters and manages a coherent, powerful tale at once exciting, philosophical and tear-jerking. The bestselling series's legions of fans will cheer their heroes on and rejoice in such a compelling conclusion to the saga."
(05/15/2009)

"The brilliant thing that Rick Riordan has done with these books is to make true what his story says: The Greek gods have moved to wherever their stories are told. Mount Olympus can as truly be at the top of the Empire State Building as it can be on a mountaintop in Greece. The important things to know are that the gods are not all-powerful, nor are they eternal, but that the stories of heroes are eternally told."
(05/10/2009)

"The hordes of young readers who have devoured Rick Riordan's four previous PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIAN books (boys over 10, mostly) will no doubt gulp down this concluding volume as greedily as they would a plateful of ambrosia, or maybe pizza."
(05/09/2009)

"The clash of modern and classical worlds is both exciting and entertaining....Like the stories in which they're rooted, Riordan's Percy Jackson novels speak to more than one audience, and in more than one key."

A solid, satisfying conclusion to Rick Riordan's five book series

Created: 21/04/11
If you're reading this without having experienced Rick Riordan's first novel in the series: The Lightning Thief, or the three other books which precede this one don't worry - I won't spoil anything, but I highly recommend you start at the beginning.

The entire series is full of witty humor based around Greek mythology, and although I considered myself to be pretty well versed on the topic I still learned a few things I hadn't known about the Gods and ancient Greek heroes. In that respect the book is both well-researched and interpreted for a modern audience.

A great series for kids and adults alike, I recommend it for anyone aged ten or older with an interest in mythology, Harry Potter fans, modern fantasy buffs, players of the Whitewolf roleplaying game Scion: Hero as there are many ideas which coincide, and families struggling with the difficulties of ADD/ADHD or dyslexia as these are addressed in a very sympathetic and positive way in the books.

This book is a solid concluding entry to the epic saga of Percy Jackson, and although it was a bit predictable there were still parts which took me by surprise. The last third of the story tends to drag a little and the main climax takes a while to build, leaving little room for démouement towards the back of the book, but it sets the stage for the second series set in the same world: Heroes of Olympus. Despite this, it remains a satisfying conclusion to the five book series Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

So Sad It's the End!

Created: 23/06/09
The Last Olympian is the final book in the Percy Jackson novels by Rick Riordan. My family has been reading these books aloud in the evenings since the first one came out. Rick Riordan really did his homework when writing these books and made learning about Greek mythology fun for my kids. They learned about the characters through these books then went to the internet and library to learn more and to see how these characters compared with the traditional view of them. The characters are well written and, as the readers, we really grew to care about them throughout these five books. What my kids loved the most about these books is that they're FUNNY! They really are! There were many times, while reading aloud, we had to stop because we were laughing so hard! They're also very exciting. It's a wonderful series and this is a fitting end to it. Or is it? We're hoping there will be more!

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Last Olympian

Created: 16/06/10
I love this series of books by Rick Riordan. I chose to purchase this one because I have read the first four and needed to finish it. I have no dislikes of this book. I love it because it is meant for a young adult or teenager up to adult ages without any profanity in it. I can follow the storyline easy because there are times I can't put the book down it is so good. I like the adventures Percy gets into with Grover and Annabeth. I would recommend this series to everyone. It also confirmed some things about Greek God mythology I was wondering about:)

My son could not wait to get this book as he is an advid Rick Riordan fan. He has read it through twice already. So as a Mom I would recommend this book highly as it keeps them wanting to read more and encourages there imaginations. To watch them act out the books makes you glad as a parent that tthis is one of there reading choices.

AWESOME!

My 10 year old son has read all of these books - this one being the last. When I asked him if it was good, he answered that it was just as good as the first (which he loved!). This whole series has kept him engrossed for hours!
