The Last Song

Miley Cyrus has top billing as 17-year-old Ronnie Miller, a rebellious former piano prodigy who doesn't hide her hostility after being sent off to spend the summer in Georgia with her estranged father. Rebuffing her dad's attempts to reconnect, the aloof Ronnie begins to thaw when she meets beach volleyballer Will Blakelee (Liam Hemsworth).
This is a good movie for younger audience, especially teenage girls. The message of Forgiveness and Reconciliation is really the bottom line theme. Greg Kinnear as the divorced dad who gets to spend time with his two kids on the Florida Coast is another predictable plot of estranged relationships between parent and child. It is a positive message for kids and even adults. The cinematography was nice as was Kinnear's acting. The younger brother really steals the show. I would recommend for teens as a positive film with no sex, violence or bad language. Forgiveness given to those who have hurt us and telling the truth are two values we need to encourage.

Emotional, moving, beautiful, realistic story
Created: 16/10/10
I found 'the Last Song' to be an emotionally charged, moving story that was very true to life. Having been through a similar situation to the children in the story, I found the movie to be captivating and realistic. Miley Cyrus's portrayal of the teenage daughter of a divorced couple, coping with the prospect of a new father, the death of her biological father and the changes that teenage life brings with it, was very, very realistic. I believe she had captured the true essence of the storyline. Being a teenager herself, perhaps she was able to draw upon recent life experiences in fulfilling the role.
I would like to applaud the directors of this film. They did not try to sugar coat the situation nor did they over dramatize the storyline. This is a situation that so many of our young people find themselves in today and to have this portrayed in such a way, brought out that while life can be extremely tough, we can all make choices that can bring a better outcome. I also believe that this film highlights the need for parents in similar situations, to become more tolerant, more understanding and more flexible in times such as these, but also to remain true to who they are and who their children have always perceived them to be.
The Last Song - definitely worth watching!

Simply Amazing

The book was definitely amazing and made me cry, but even though the movie had left out some important parts in the book the movie added some really good scenes and Nicholas Sparks had also played a part in the making of the movie, the movie helped to show visuals of what was in the book, and Miley Cryus and Liam Hemsworth had great chemistry and were both great actors. So over all the book and movie were both amazing.

Great Movie! I really like Miley Cyrus. I think she is very talented in the singing and acting business.
I took my 8 year old to see this. She liked all the but 'kissing scenes' which was fine with me!
I dont think the movie lives up to the book, but overall a wonderful movie for adults and those young Miley fans.

Best Movie in the Chick Flick section!

Nicholas Sparks captured a subject that was close to my heart: the father-daughter relationship. He portrays the struggle that the two individuals have relying on each other again and finding out new truths about each other. I loved this movie and I would recommend this movie to anyone who needs to have a girls day. Miley Cyrus was excellent in this movie, though no one thought that she would be. She deserves credit where credit is due, and this is it. She was wonderful and beautiful in this movie.
