Law Enforcement Memorabilia: Price and Identification Guide by Monty McCord (1999, Paperback)

Law Enforcement Memorabilia (1999) is a paperback book containing excellent information for not only collectors, but historians as well. I've been issued badges from departments, and had other badges in my collection, but never knew some of the markings left by the manufacturers. This had been a very helpful guide. It also contains interesting trivia, such as Nebraska Sheriff's Office's only using 7 point stars, and the badge numbers begin with 9. According to the mannal, the state of Alaska has no counties or parishes. They have municipal PD's and the Alaska state police.
I recommend this for anyone insterested in the collection of law enforcement badges, patches, miniture police cars, license plates, restraints, or similar items.

I really liked the thoroughness of the book. I have been collecting law enforcement items for some time, and I really liked his areas on how to tell real badges from the fake ones. I plan to keep the book to refer to at times, and I decided to buy it for the descriptions and the price.

There was a lot of time and research putting this book together.
It is well worth the cost. There should not be any negative comments about this book. It should be respected for the information that was gathered.

Not enough color photos. Incomplete history on many items. However, there are very fews books written on this subject.
