The results can be heard on what is undoubtedly his most mature and heartfelt effort. He embraces environmental issues here, and tells his side of the unhappy marriage. He still isn't a cerebral sort, so the subject matter clashes somewhat with his typically simple expressions, but the effort helped him reconnect with his fans, who made this album something of a sleeper hit: although it was his lowest charting effort ever, it stayed in the charts longer than any album he'd made since the heyday of Loggins And Messina, and went gold. ~ William Ruhlmann

Editorial Reviews
..a suite of impassioned confessional songs...Mr. Loggins's complex folk-rock melodies are bolstered by virtuosic arrangements that incorporate world-music and new-age instrumentation..

Very Smooth

Created: 12/10/08
I love this CD. One reason I love Kenny Loggins voice, it is a social conscious CD as he relates it to the next generation, mainly his children/children in genral. It has a lot of nice sound using a flute sound, and wood wind instruments. Plus it has Smokey Robinson singing back vocals. It has a very sensual and rhythmic quality to it. It's soft, sensual and sweet. I love Too Early for the Sun and Sweet Reunion, they are very romantic. Sheryl Crow also does background vocals on this CD. I had it before on cassett, and thought it would be great on CD. Kenny Loggins ballards have that "quite storm" feel to it. The kind of music you would play on a date with someone special over dinner.

Over 30 YEARS of great Music!

Created: 07/07/07
I first became aware of Kenny Loggins in the early 70's when his first album "Sittin' In" with Jim Mesina was waiting to be released. No one had ever heard of them yet and they were the opening act for "Mott the Hoople". By the time these two guys were done I had forgotten all about "Mott the Hoople". Over the ensuing 30+ years I've grown to love this guy even more. Leap of Faith is the next step in this artist's evolution. Through C&W, POP, Rock, Jazz, Movie Music and now, even children's music Kenny Loggins has left an indelible mark on American Music. This collection of songs shows a mature Kenny Loggins at his level best. He Rocks, He Rolls, he Croons, he whispers, he screams and it all works like magic. I particularly like Loggins' sense of melody. Usually lighthearted and playful, he also plumbs the depths of emotion and longing and makes you FEEL it. With this album you can see the direction he's headed in next; Children's music. If you like Kenny Loggins this CD should light you up pretty good and it displays a lot of what this musical genius has learned over the breadth of a 30+ year career. Buy it! You won't be disappointed

Totally love this CD. I had it before, but it got lost in a move. It's been 4 years since I lost it, and now know why I have missed it so much!
