A thin plot but a good movie

Amy Adams (Enchanted) stars as a successful women who has been waiting for years for her boy friend to ask the big question. When she thinks he is finally going to ask, he doesn't. He leaves for Ireland and she follows him with the intention of taking advantage of a family tradition that on Leap Year a women can ask the man to marry her. She meets another man and is now having second thoughts about who she should ask.
Adams is a very good actress for this type of movie and she plays the role very well. The plot is pretty thin and follows pretty much exactly what you think it would.
This is a good family movie for those who like love stories that have a thin plot.

Anna (Amy Adams) chooses February 29 to propose marriage to her "perfect" boyfriend, Jeremy (Adam Scott), sure he'll accept because of an Irish custom. But after meeting charming innkeeper Declan (Matthew Goode) en route to Dublin, Anna must evaluate her original plans. Anand Tucker directs this charming romantic comedy about finding what one really wants in the most unexpected places.

Funny and moving

I thought that it was funny and had good plot motion. It was everything that I would expect out of Amy Adams. She has such a bubbly personality on screen but this also had serious moments that were enjoyable. I enjoyed Matthew Goode. He had a wonderful irish accent compared to his british one in Chasing Liberty. I bought the movie because the concept of a woman proposing to a man on leap year interested me and I love Amy Adams as an actress so I thought that it would be all around a good time and it was.

Any movie that leaves a warm feeling in your tummy and wants you to watch it again is deserving of an excellent rating. I have watched it a few times and I am sure I will not stop at that. Matthew Goode and Amy Adams perfect in their roles.
A movie that suggests getting to know each other honestly before making judgements and it helps being yourself even if first impressions are not what they may seem.

I've read tons of reviews on this movie and lots are unfavorable. But I have to say it is a great movie! You know exactly where its going at every turn but its surprisingly hilarious in the most unexpected places. Which makes it worth watching. There are some romantic comedies that no matter what the title or actors you feel you've already seen the movie before just under another name. You don't get that here. This is one of the most under rated movies ever.
