Bates moves a little more toward traditional country territory on this album, with a tight backing band and a lean, occasionally rollicking sound. The young artist still loves his cheesy sentimental ballads (as evidenced by the album's lead-off single "Long Slow Kisses"), but his beautifully rich baritone croon makes them more than bearable. All in all, this is a fine follow-up release full of admirable writing and performances.

) Being from Mississippi, I too have had the opportunity to meet Jeff after his show several times. This guy is the real deal. He is so nice and genuine. His voice just makes the ladies feel like they're melting in their seats. His music fits his personality to a "T" Jeff bates is GOOD PEOPLE. Now that being said, all the songs on this cd are GREAT but I think the best ones are Good People,One Second Chance,The Woman He Walked On,Leave the Light On, and the one that I think will eventually find its way to the top of the charts is "That'll Get You Ten" This song starts off about a guy that is about to steal a bottle of liquor in a liquor store and the owner sees him and tells him basically that if he wants to go ahead and do that then he won't stop him but that'll get him "one" meaning a year in prison. Next scenario is about meeting a girl in a bar who makes it clear she wants to take the guy home with her and when they are walking out in the parking lot she points out her car and it has a high school sticker on it and then he realizes that what he's about to do will get him "five" (years in prison) The song progresses on with different scenarios and more years added up until he reaches one that will get him "life" This is a great song. I definately would recommend this cd to everyone. Give Jeff a chance and you'll be hooked!

) I went to see Jeff Foxworthy at the NYS Fair and just thought Jeff Bates was another comedian opening for Foxworthy. I was surprised and honestly a little dissappointed to see a "country singer". I am not a huge country fan, I do enjoy some of the newer country artists. I just have to say that Jeff Bate's voice made me absolutely melt! I listened to his songs, and they are things we can relate too and in his song Long Slow Kisses , what woman wouldnt want her man to come home and talk that way to her, and Jeff's voice just makes chills go up my spine when I hear that song. I have purchased both of his CD's and hope that he makes it back to NY soon.

) The first time i heard about Jeff Bates is when I heard the song "One second Chance" on GACTV. I ordered the CD "Leave the Lights On" and I really like it. He makes every song seem so real & true. I am going to order the other CD of Rainbow Man as soon as I can find it online.

) I first saw Jeff Bates two years ago as an opening act for Tracy Lawerence and immediatly fell in love with his deep, sexy voice. I bought his CD Rainbow Man and bought Leave the Light On and both CDs have songs that seem to tell personal stories about his life. I especially love the first track on Leave the Light On as it is "Long Slow Kisses" but done even better, more emotion and if possible, even sexier!!!

I really really like this cd. Most of it touches the heart in a very special way. The words to the love songs are intense, romantic, and sensual. The deep sound of his voice is very gentle, yet sexy. His strong voice puts you in the mind of such artists as Conway Twitty, Elvis, and Trace Adkins. The other songs are of the fun up-beat kind. I would highly rec. this cd and I for one will definately buy more as new ones are produced. I have a good feeling this guy is going to be around for a very long time. I do not think anyone who enjoys hearing a deep baritone sing would be disappointed. Definately sets the mood for a romantic evening.
